Mormor's recommendations on foot:

Buy some gourmet ingredients at Sonoma Market and enjoy a picnic in the plaza park. Alternately, there are many great restaurants. Explore the fascinating history of the town of Sonoma by visiting the "Barracks" right across from the park, showing the dramatic things that happened here last century when we broke away from Mexico and became a free-standing republic! Then cross the street to tour the northernmost mission in California. There are bicycle rentals bicycle pathways. All kinds of interesting boutiques outline the The Plaza neighborhood or why not visit our proud little Art Museum one block down Broadway.

Mormor's recommendations by car:

There are lots of spas nearby for a relaxing massage. In nearby Glen Ellen, enjoy a tram ride through the Vineyards of Benziger Winery, followed by the wine tasting. This is the best wine tasting experience around here. It's a good idea to reserve a space. While you're up there, the Jack London Park is right around the corner, featuring a great little museum showing all kinds of artifacts from his adventures. A short hike through a beautiful pathway brings you down to the heartbreaking and impressive ruins of the small castle he was building. The wood parts of it burnt to the ground just as it was move-in ready but the gorgeous 3 story high stone walls still stand in all their beauty, surrounded by giant redwoods. The stunning Armstrong redwoods in Guerneville, followed by a quick ride along the stunning wild cliffs of our Sonoma coastline and some seafood at Bodega Bay.
