It all started at Skylake Yosemite Camp. Emma started as soon as she possibly could at the age of eight to catch up to her two older brothers, and Gabriel starting at age nine, also wanting to be near his older brother. We believe it was the summer when we were twelve that we first met. Although neither of us remember our first encounter, we shared the same friend group. Gradually each summer we grew closer, rooted by an immediate, deep comfort and understanding. First impressions: admittingly, Gabriel was initially alarmed by and unsure of what to do with Emma’s seemingly never ending high decibel of energy, but she always knew how to make him laugh. Emma, in particular, can vouch for the fact that Gabe has always been a knockout. Her admiration for him was both instantaneous, and everlasting. As we aged and found our footing in the world outside of summer camp, Gabe developed a romantic curiosity for Emma. In the spring of 2022, Emma relocated from the Bay Area to Los Angeles. After just a few weeks, Gabriel sensed her presence (on instagram). He reached out with the eloquent query: “Do my eyes doth deceive me, or are you in LA?” Within days we had reconnected. After years apart that same grounding, calming energy remained. Emma confessed her decade-long crush merely one day after our reconnection, and our love began. We are overjoyed to be celebrating our union and forging our lives together.
