Islet of Vila Franca do Campo
This beach is small but incredibly special. It’s located on the inside rim of an ancient, submerged volcanic crater. The lake inside is connected to the sea by a small opening and the entire Islet is a protected Nature Reserve. You will need to get tickets ahead of time and you cannot be late to the ferry! Also, you will be able to see this island (islet) from our wedding venue!
Praia de Santa Barbara
Depending on the waves, this beach can be the ultimate surf (or surf watching!) spot. Black volcanic sands and deep blue water create a uniquely beautiful ambiance made even better by a cold beer from the beach cafe.
Praia do Fogo Ribeira Quente
Set in a bay of outstanding natural beauty, with the green of the mountains as its backdrop. One of the coolest features is the temperature of the seawater: due to the existence of underwater hydrothermal springs, the water is always pleasantly warm!
