Wedding Party

Brett Murray

Man of Honor

It's rare to have a best friend for 3 decades at their age, but Sarah and Brett feel lucky to say they have been inseparable since they were 2 years old. From Harry Potter midnight book releases, and Steak 'n Shake/BWW excursions, to ending up at the same college, the raccoon that lived in their trash can senior year, sobbing at Taylor Swift concerts together (maybe partially because Brett got scammed on their first set of Eras Tour tickets...), running through Times Square at midnight with an entire pizza and standing by Brett's side at his wedding (and every crazy, fun moment in between) Sarah couldn't imagine her wedding without Brett next to her like he's always been.

Mike Smigielski

Best Man

Mike and Tim's friendship blossomed like an early spring daffodil, yet it was summer when the two met. Before freshman classes began, Mike and Tim competed to be teammates on the golf team and then joined forces for what would become the most accomplished percussion section in Nazareth's history. The two knew they had no option but to get along and adopt one another's personalities and self destructive behaviors. Mike was destined for greatness, while Tim's destiny was uncertain. But it was Mike's cheerleading that helped propel Tim to his own version of greatness, no matter how low. Following multiple college visits, concerts and Stanley Cup championships, the two would further kindle their bond by living in a rat infested apartment together with pet fish. Today, the two have survived and thrived through the coming of age.

Chris Crabel

Man of Honor

Chris and Sarah met in 5th grade as the top two (read: only two) French Horns in the middle school band. Their friendship upleveled to best friends when Chris mentioned something about High School Musical and Sarah got too excited and somehow stuck a thin metal wire from her horn valve completely through her middle finger. Note: Chris did not do anything to help and still maintains his innocence to this day. In adulthood, Sarah convinced Chris to move to Chicago and they worked together for a short while (with many days ending in Sarah hiding under Chris's desk to get away from everyone). Two decades and a million memories later, Sarah couldn't say "I do" without Chris by her side.

Evan Ruggiero

Groomsman

Evan and Tim met on a University of Dayton porch drinking Natural Light and admiring one another's hockey sweaters. They knew something was right, there was balance and depth. By senior year, they accepted the position of sharing a bedroom. It was an intimate affair, filled with nights of binge watching Breaking Bad and watching YouTube videos of North Korea's naval fleet. As college wrapped up, the two moved home to Chicagoland and could be found slurping ramen or teeing off at the nearest golf links. Tim had the absolute privilege of officiating Evan and his wife, Cathryn's, wedding. This opened up Tim's side hustle as a wedding officiant. Tim is constantly reminded by Evan that "if you don't use it, then you lose it."

Olivia Crawford

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Olivia grew up 5 houses up the street from each other, but didn't become friends until high school band where they were Drum Majors together. Not only were they the best drum majors ever (see trophies in the WCHS band room for reference), but they bonded over Pizza Hut (which they still enjoy together) and have been besties ever since. From nights out at Bradley and triple-fisting at Rod Tuffcurls concerts, to Sarah convincing Liv to move up to Chicago and into her apartment building, the two have countless memories and shenanigans to laugh about. Sarah is looking forward to more memories together with Liv right by her side.

Chris Wanderling

Groomsman

Chris and Tim first met at golf tryouts in high school, and found themselves sitting next to one another in Western Civilization. They quickly learned the ins and outs of civilized society, but refused to take notes. Chris and Tim share an affinity for cylindrical shaped objects and possess a background in teenage pyrotechnics. The two managed to spend their youth going nowhere and somewhere at the same time in Chris's Jeep. Tim, Chris and Mike share a text thread called 'nosies,' and despite the distance that these three have experienced over the recent past, they inevitably participate in a light hearted nosies at each reunion. Chris is an inspiration to all that yearn to be vivacious.

Tasha Salter

Bridesmaid

Tasha and Sarah met through mutual friends in high school and, after Tasha cooked popcorn on the stovetop for Sarah, Sarah latched on and decided Tasha was forever stuck with her. They spent many nights driving too fast down country roads with the windows down, the heat on, and Eminem blaring (hence Sarah's need for ear protection now) and, despite Tasha's dog once punching Sarah in the face, and Sarah spilling bright red UV/Sprite on Tasha's basement carpet (thankfully the Washington tornado took care of that one for us...), the two have remained close friends, even though they don't get to partake in as many nachos and margaritas nights as they used to because of distance. Sarah was honored to stand by Tasha during her wedding, and she can't imagine her special day without Tasha.

Tom Miller

Groomsman

Tom and Tim met somewhere in downtown La Grange in middle school, but became friends in high school because Tom thought Tim was cool. Tom was wrong. But they shared a sense of humor and writing style that was ahead of their time. Together, the two constructed a Tenacious D-like originals duo, known as 'The Unipony's.' Please don't ask any further questions on the matter. Tom has influenced Tim in many aspects of life, primarily music and culture. Without Tom, Tim would be far more vanilla. Tom currently makes cartoon books about his cats, and shares these books with Tim at very opportune times. Tom's unique and authentic nature brings Tim great happiness.

Kara Kendall

Bridesmaid

Kara and Sarah met while working at Chicago Booth and became fast friends. They bonded over Peoria, since Sarah grew up there and Kara went to Bradley, and their love of adventure and travel. Kara once spent a few months teaching English in Costa Rica, and Sarah planned to visit. Instead, the two booked a trip to Peru on a whim and spent a few weeks sand boarding in the desert, hiking the Incan trail, zip lining over a cliff (which had questionable safety standards), biking down a mountain, hiking up Rainbow Mountain, whitewater rafting (Kara fell out of the raft but they saved her), and exploring Machu Picchu so Sarah could see the llamas. The two are often enjoying a meal together and looking for a new adventure. Sarah couldn't imagine embarking on this next journey without Kara by her side!

Skylar Warner

Groomsman

Skylar and Tim met at the University of Dayton, as to a time and place lost from the history books. Both are fanatics of jam bands, so the two gravitated to one another when the music was just right. They soon ran their own parties where the playlist heavily favored the Grateful Dead, Phish, Keller Williams (you name it). When the music was turned down, they'd likely be playing duck hunter or competing in the art of foosball at 107 Woodland. After college, Skylar moved back home to Colorado Springs. Tim has taken advantage of Skylar's hospitality multiple times, and the two have hiked, rafted, and gone to Red Rocks Amphitheatre together. Skylar possesses an energy that personifies ease. He may just say "I'm The Dude. So, that's what you call me."

Marie Caywood

Bridesmaid

Marie and Sarah both went to SIUE and found each other when Sarah joined Alpha Sigma Tau. Marie was Sarah's "penguin pal," which was a position that helped new members adjust to joining the group. Sarah immediately knew she had to have Marie as her sorority "mom." Since then, the two have laughed, cried, driven 23 hours to South Padre in Sarah's real mom's minivan, survived nights at the Cabin and so much more together. It's safe to say that Marie's support, love and guidance were 3 big reasons Sarah graduated from college, but that she also brought a lot of fun, delinquency and excitement to those 4 years. Sarah got to stand by Marie as she married her husband last year, and Sarah has always looked forward to the day Marie could stand by her side too!

Zac Basile

Groomsman

Zac and Tim are certainly not two peas in a pod. They are more like two peanuts that shared a mutated shell - bound together by the pressures of close proximity. Starting school together in first grade, they were originally acquaintances and both drummers in band. As the two matured, Tim began to understand why Zac was added to his life. After a series of events that included Zac getting their golf cart stuck in the tall fescue at the Links of Carillon, to Zac going rogue with a chimes solo during band - leading to his excuse that he was 'tuning the bells', it became clear that such a goofball should be adored. Zac and Tim share a love for the Dave Matthews Band, as well as shared fandom for Chicago sports. The two ditched last period to watch their beloved Sox lose to Tampa Bay in the 2008 American League Division Series from the US Cellular Field outfield.

Emily Dierker

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Emily met at United Airlines when Sarah joined Emily's team. Sarah was convinced Emily hated her at first, but the two quickly realized they were the same weird, chaotic person and formed an unmatched bond. You can always find them making inappropriate jokes to each other and laughing so hard they cry over dinner and yapping. Emily is always there to answer Sarah's unhinged FaceTimes and is forever inspiring Sarah by her accomplishments (seriously she's run like 700 marathons). Emily is also a wonderfully skilled photographer and graciously spent a morning taking family photos (see gallery page) for Sarah and Tim, which she made incredibly memorable with many laughs. Sarah couldn't imagine a wedding day without Emily by her side bringing the smiles (and chaos)!

Carl Hawkins

Groomsman

Carl and Tim are brothers from other mothers. Carl pretends to enjoy his time with his in-laws, but we know that Carl married into the family for the lake house and Bears season tickets. Kidding...it's a running joke (maybe). About once a year, Carl and Tim watch the Bears lose together in Soldier Field's cold lakefront air while partaking in adult beverages and talking about Bridget. Carl is a necessary component to our family because he still possesses a work ethic during summer lake house visits, while Tim sleeps in and does very few constructive things for the family. Carl is indeed a role model husband and dad!

Carly Powell

Bridesmaid

Much like meeting Marie, Carly joined AST a year after Sarah did, and Sarah immediately knew she was the next member of their Fish Fam. Even though she was battling another girl for Carly's love, Sarah eventually won her heart and Carly became her "baby." The two could always be found out doing questionable things like Saran wrapping themselves to be iPods for Halloween (see photo above - no we are not taking questions at this time about how we used the facilities) and Sarah may have accidentally almost gotten Carly arrested at her first college party (but she didn't and Chris saved them all!). The two have been roommates, (including in PCB where they were so excited to call dibs on the room with bunk beds.... only to find out that "room" was literally a converted hall closet), and have shared unlimited laughs and memories. Sarah is honored to have Carly be her side for yet another night of shenanigans, this time sans Saran Wrap (hopefully).

Max Hawkins

Ring Bearer

Nephew!

Bridget Hawkins

Bridesmaid

Bridget is Tim's older sister, and as an only child, Sarah always dreamed about having a sibling. To say she lucked out getting to have Bridget as a sister-in-law is an understatement. The two have enjoyed family trips to Disney together, where Sarah loved having an excuse to run around with Bridget's kids and share Mickey ice creams, Cancun for New Year's Eve and countless sunny days at their favorite place: Saugany Lake. Sarah is so excited to officially have Bridget as a sister and for all the memories to come as a part of the Heuer family!

Mairi Hawkins

Flower Girl

Niece!

Jimmy Kennedy

Officiant

Tim and Jimmy were childhood friends.
