Planning

If you plan on staying overnight, please book your accommodations as far ahead in advance as possible. Our recommendations are in a section below. Daily ferry schedules for next summer won’t be posted until January, so those can be booked later, but should still be done months in advance. Details on the ferry are a little further down below! Martha’s Vineyard Transit has a highly rated bus route that operates for $2/trip in the summer from the Oak Bluffs ferry - and can drop you off at our venue - as long as you make sure to tell the driver! Schedules for the bus will be posted mid-May, but I’m told they should leave the Oak Bluffs ferry every top of the hour. Details below as well!

Staying Here

AIRBNB/VRBO - For groups we highly recommend booking a vacation home, even for just the weekend. It’s the most reasonable pricing per person. This also helps guarantee parking, especially if you want to stay close to downtown! We suggest staying in Oak Bluffs as it is closest to our wedding events, as well as the islands most popular spots. We also love Edgartown if you’re okay with a ~30 minute ride to/from where our wedding events will be taking place & the ferry. Be sure to search for both 2 and 3 night stays. Some homes become available and others offer better rates for 3+ night stays. While we recommend booking ASAP, June doesn’t typically fill up on the island and you can find plenty of 2/3 night minimum stays. Please reach out to us if you have any questions - we also have a few homes saved that we are happy to suggest if you reach out! SUMMERCAMP HOTEL - Right in downtown Oak Bluffs. Walking distance to the Oak Bluffs ferry and After Party! We have never personally stayed, but we have heard great things and it seems super cute. They do offer one night minimums for those of you that just want to stay one night. You should call to secure a room ASAP as they only book over the phone. When I called to ask about availability, rooms were going for just under $500/night. Phone number is (508) 693-6611. Website is www.larkhotels.com/hotels/summercamp. MANSION HOUSE INN - Downtown Vineyard Haven, we have never stayed here either, but we peeked inside and it’s a gorgeous hotel. It’s in another great location, great for those who don’t want to stay long or want a little more luxury & privacy as opposed to renting a vacation home. They do require a two night minimum in June and rates were also just under $500/night last we checked, but they told us they offer discounts over the phone if rooms haven’t filled. They offer parking as well! Phone number is (508) 693-2200. Website is mvmansionhouse.com. Feel free to share with us what accommodations you choose!

Getting Here - The Ferry

We only recommend booking the ferry ahead if you plan on having your car. It should be fairly easy to get to our venue via Uber/Lyft or the MVT bus, and would only recommend taking your car if you are staying for a longer period and want to explore… even then - the bus does a pretty good job of getting you around! 2024 Summer Reservations can be made online starting on January 30, 2024 at 5:00 a.m. EST. They go quick, so plan to go online to book your car spot that day! We recommend taking the Steamship Authority route out of Woods Hole going into Oak Bluffs - and especially if you’re NOT taking your car, as it’s closer to our wedding events & has more transit options. If you want to bring your car, plan to book early January - we cannot stress this enough! Taking your car on the ferry is like taking a plane. Once car spots fill up, they’re gone. You must get on the ferry for the time you choose when you purchase tickets. Plan to arrive 1 hour before departure. If you miss your ferry time, they will not let you on with your car. Keep in mind Woods Hole, MA is on Cape Cod, so plan your travel to account for bridge traffic, especially if you plan to travel in the evening on Friday. If you choose not to bring your car or miss your ferry time, you can park at any of the 3 Steamship Authority parking lots in Woods Hole / Falmouth. You have to pay a daily rate to park at these lots, but there are always free shuttles running that get you directly to and from the ferry. Shuttles take about 10-15 minutes to get from the parking lot to ferry. You should still plan to arrive at the ferry one full hour before departure. You do not have to purchase ferry tickets ahead of time if you are walking on. You can purchase tickets at the kiosk prior to boarding. Please reach out to us and we can help you arrange your ferry tickets if you would like our assistance! The website is www.SteamshipAuthority.com.

Getting Here - MVT Bus

Martha’s Vineyard Transit bus #9 LET ME REPEAT!!! BUS NUMBER NINE! (The purple route in the link above)! Best part is that it’s a $2 trip. I am told that #9 picks up from the Oak Bluffs ferry every top of the hour in the summer. (The routes in the link above will be updated in May for in-season schedules). If this is the option you choose, I’d make sure to be on the 3 o’clock bus - this will absolutely give you enough time as it’s a quick ride - and make sure to tell your driver to stop at Sailing Camp Park! If you get to the island early and have time to kill, The Lookout Tavern is a fantastic lunch spot or to grab a drink, a short walk from the ferry. If you’re taking the ferry back home later in the evening, we will have our own shuttles for the wedding take you back to the Oak Bluffs ferry around 8pm. Final schedules will take ferry schedule into consideration!

Travel Note

Once You’re Here

#9 MVT Bus - Please read about the bus above in the Getting Here section! UBER/LYFT - There are always Uber’s and Lyft’s available. We recommend downloading both apps before you make the trip and inputting your information ahead of time. The longest we’ve waited for an Uber was ~30 minutes, so please factor that in if you choose to walk on the ferry and Uber to the wedding! CARS - You probably only need a car if you are staying an extended period of time, or are bringing your little ones and want the comfort. The island is pretty big and very car-friendly! It can be easy to forget you’re on an island. There is plenty of parking at Sail Camp Park. We personally love bringing the car over when we stay longer as you can see the island in a different way.

Wedding to After Party

Around 7:45pm we will have a bus loop twice from our venue to our after party in downtown Oak Bluffs! For those taking the ferry back that evening, please let us know and we will ask the bus to make the stop there, too.
