Why can't I find the Rockefeller Complex on any maps?

Answer

The Rockefeller Complex has no official street address. The Oval Garden, where the ceremony and dinner will be held, is located right next to the Williamsburg Spa: 307 S England St | Williamsburg, VA 23185. We will have clear signage directing you to any alternate location(s) in case of inclement weather forcing us to move indoors.

Question

Do I need to buy a ticket to Colonial Williamsburg to attend any of the scheduled events?

Answer

No! You'll only need to buy a ticket if you would like to explore the historic buildings within Colonial Williamsburg on your own time before or after our wedding; the ceremony, dinner, and reception do not require admission. Please note that you may walk around and enjoy the outdoor spectacles of Colonial Williamsburg, without entering the exhibit buildings, without purchasing an admission ticket!

Can I bring a +1?

Answer

Initially, no. We will make every effort to seat you with people you know at the dinner; failing that, we will seat you with people we feel you would make great dinner conversation with! If you are interested in bringing a +1, please RSVP yourself on the website and make your request via email (billandhannahlandis@gmail.com). After RSVPs are due September 1, we may contact you to let you know if we have room to invite your +1.

Why Williamsburg? And why a Sunday?

Answer

The Martens have long-standing familial ties to Colonial Williamsburg and it is a special place for Hannah. We both have friends and family flung all over the US, but felt that an East Coast ceremony would be most accessible for the majority of our guests. We chose Sunday of a holiday weekend hoping that some (many?) of our guests would already have the Monday off, and might be able to be more flexible with their travel arrangements. Furthermore, even though this is a bit of a destination wedding, it is important to us to be able to invite as many of our wonderful friends and relatives as possible, and this date at this venue was our best option to accomplish that goal!
