Travel + Stay

There are over 30,000 hotel rooms in the Waikiki resort area, including international hotel brands, historic estates, contemporary boutique hotels, value properties, and family-friendly condominiums. Below we have highlighted some hotels we thought may be a good place to start your search. Of course, as noted above, there are many other hotels. Feel free to book whatever offers you the right amenities, price, and/or accepts the right membership points. Some things to look at when comparing prices: what is the parking fee and what is the resort fee. If you plan to hang out around Waikiki, you won’t need a car. However, if you plan to explore more around the island, a car is helpful. The airport you'll be flying into Oahu is Honolulu International Airport (HNL). It's located just 10 miles northwest of Waikiki Beach.

Travel Note

Costco Travel Vacation Packages

We recommend starting your search at Costco travel for significant saving when bundling flights, hotel stays, and/or car rentals. The majority of the hotels listed are in the heart of Waikiki but our tops picks based on price and location are Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort, Hilton Hawaiian Village, DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki Beach, Sheraton Waikiki, and Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber. However, if you prefer to stay at Waikiki's iconic hotels, they're also available with Costco travel; Moana Surfrider, The Royal Hawaiian, and Hilton Hawaiian Village. Click 'View' to for more information on these 3 iconic hotels

Hotel

OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki Beach Resort

2169 Kālia Road
Honolulu, HI 96815

Newly renovated guestrooms with Monkeypod Kitchen located on premise, you can enjoy not only farm-fresh local cuisine, but daily live entertainment and happy hour with an impressive view of Diamond Head. The location of this hotel is perfect for those who want to be along the oceanfront without the noise and traffic of Waikiki as it's situated off the main strip (Kalakaua Ave.) Yet, still walking distance to everything in Waikiki. This hotel is our #1 suggestion based on price, location, and ambience.

Hotel

Sheraton Waikiki

2255 Kalākaua Avenue
Honolulu, HI 96815

The Sheraton Waikiki is a couple doors down from Outrigger Reef which means it's also along the beachfront however, this hotel offers more amenities. There are multiple pools (one of which is an Infinity Pool), more dining and shopping options, and the rooms have been newly renovated. The Sheraton completed a $200 million renovation on all their room and suite in September 2023. With that said, it's a bit pricier but may be well worth all the new upgrades.

Hotel

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort

2005 Kālia Road
Honolulu, HI 96815

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is a great option for those who are looking for a stay with a lot of amenities. Located on the widest stretch of beach in Waikiki, it features more than 80 shops, onsite bars and restaurants, multiple pools and waterslides, as well as the only saltwater lagoon. Rooms and suites are set across five towers. Please click 'view' for more information on The Ali’i Tower, Rainbow Tower, and Tapa Collection. Hotel

Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites

1777 Ala Moana Boulevard
Honolulu, HI 96815

The Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites is perfect for those who prefer to have a full kitchen during their stay. Plus, its location near Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon is great for those who have little ones. We recommend hotels in north Waikiki for those who have kids or are looking for a quieter stay. Some of the suites at this property are individually owned and may be listed on VRBO and Airbnb.

Hotel

The Kahala Hotel & Resort

5000 Kahala Avenue
Honolulu, HI 96816

Not a fan of Waikiki and looking for more of a nearby secluded stay? Check out The Kahala Hotel & Resort. For those of you who are familiar with the Turtle Bay Resort in the North Shore, this is the South Shore's equivalent . . . in other words . . . it is very fancyyy.
