We've put our own spin on a wedding. We will be hosting our wedding weekend at Camp Canadensis in Canadensis, PA. We will have access to the entire camp all weekend. Meals and lodging will all be provided by the camp. Guests are welcome to join us from Friday to Sunday or just Saturday if your schedule will not allow the entire weekend.
It all started with Tinder. Cody and Mel swiped right on Tinder and arranged a first date on February 20, 2019 at Brew Works in Bethlehem, PA. During this date we found out we had a lot in common. Growing up Cody played hockey and Mel played soccer and we both wore number 8 on our jerseys. We also discovered we had been playing in rec leagues in neighboring buildings, but we never crossed paths. We shared a love for alternative(emo) music and our favorite bands Taking Back Sunday(Mel) and Coheed and Cambria(Cody). After realizing this was not going to be another awful tinder date and could be something more, Mel asked Cody to declare his intentions with their relationship the first night. A whole 4 days later we were officially a couple February 24, 2019, 8 months later living together October 19, 2019, and 4 years later Cody proposed after one of Mel's indoor soccer games April 4, 2023 at the Lou Ramos Center.
Our lives revolve around our pets, family/friends, hockey, and sports. Cody still plays, referees, and coaches hockey - 16U Girls. Mel helps Cody with coaching and plays soccer and hockey(Spring 2023 GHL Champion). Cody plays on the Jackyls for men's league. Mel plays on Gerihatricks for co-ed soccer, Past Our Prime for women's soccer, and in the Geezer League for hockey. We share chores around the house, but Cody handles most of the laundry, dishes, and trash. Our favorite place to shop would be Costco, but we always love a good thrift store. We love going to concerts and seeing our favorite bands, the first concert we saw together was The Sound of Animals Fighting. Our favorite hockey teams are the NJ Devils and Anaheim Ducks. We enjoy boat days up at Lake Wallenpaupack and camping at Otter Lake with Cody's family. Our favorite drinks are White Russian(Cody) and a Dirty Martini(Mel). Cody is the better driver and Mel has been dubbed passenger princess. Lastly, we enjoy the tradition of blackjack with Mel's family.
We have 5 pets. Stitch - Shih Tzu, 10 years old, 6/15/2013: Stitch started out as a family dog, but became very attached to Mel and shortly became Mel's dog. He is a spritely senior dog who loves chicken nuggies and squeeky toys. He has a strict bedtime of 9:30pm the latest and will be visually grumpy and upset about being awake or out later than this time. He is more cat than dog and hates walking on a leash. These days his favorite human is Cody. Lady - Siberian Husky, 4 years old 6/27/2019: She is your typical husky who loves to run and play endlessly. She attends daycare at Puppy Palace and loves it there. She loves going on bike rides, swimming in the water(as long as she can touch), is allergic to chicken, and loves play dates with her best friend, Callie. Lady and Spud enjoy playing together and window watching to pass the days. Mel is her favorite human. Princess- Brown Tabby, 14 years old 6/24/2009: She is the only guard animal we have. We inherited her from Sean(Cody's bestman), who was serving our country in Germany and could not take her along. She loves all the pets and cuddles, but wants nothing to do with our other kids. Spud - Gray Tabby, 2 years 5/1/2021: We decided to get Lady a kitten and adopted Spud from a local rescue - Absolutely Puurfect. Spud and Lady are the best of buds, but he is an absolute nuisance for everyone else. He is the most annoying little brother in cat form. He likes to try and play with Princess except the feelings are not mutual. He likes to always be near you, but never be touched. He also believes all treats and food are fair game for him(Lady will share her food with him). Barb - White and Gray short-hair, 1yrs old? 8/26/2022: Barb is our newest addition that was wandering outside of our house for a couple weeks. Musikfest was coming into town and we didn't want her scared outside with all the commotion. Barb is now part of our pack. She will greet you at the door while also trying to escape. She is constantly scavenging for food around the kitchen. She likes to terrorize Princess and play around with Spud. She does not care for the dogs. She loves cardboard boxes and and human food.
