What's the dress code?

Welcome dinner: Cocktail attire Wedding: Formal attire Celebratory brunch: Casual attire And ladies-- keep in mind this is farm wedding on a property from the 15th century! Expect some uneven grounds, so please choose your shoes accordingly. The weather is usually still pretty warm in early September, but can drop in the evening.

Any tips for learning some basic Italian leading up to my trip?

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

As much as we would have loved the company of your children at our wedding, we do not have the venue capacity to include your wonderful kids. Thank you for understanding.

Will there be transportation?

Answer

Yes! For those of you staying at Fattoria Di Maiano: There will be a shuttle service Thursday and Friday driving to and from Maiano and the Fiesole town square (about 10 minutes away). From the center of Fiesole, you can explore this beautiful town or take the bus down to Florence. A round trip takes 20-25 minutes so you'll never be waiting too long! The hours are as follows: Thursday 2pm to 10pm - continuous service between Fiesole and Fattoria di Maiano Friday 10am to 6pm - continuous service between Fiesole and Fattoria di Maiano Friday 6:30pm - service from Fiesole to Fattoria di Maiano for Welcome Dinner Friday 9:15pm to 10pm - service from Fattoria di Maiano to Fiesole after Welcome Dinner Saturday 11:15am - service from Fiesole to Fattoria di Maiano for Wedding Ceremony Saturday 9:15pm to 10pm - service from Fattoria di Maiano to Fiesole after Wedding Reception Sunday 9:45am to 1:15 pm - service between Fiesole and Fattoria di Maiano for Celebratory Brunch Meeting points: Fattoria di Maiano front entrance Paizza Mino da Fiesole - "bus turistici" bus stop located in front of the Cathedral at Piazza Mino, which is the central square of Fiesole For those of you staying in Fiesole: A shuttle service will pick you up at the town square for all three of our events, and return you back after.

How do I call a taxi?

Bianca recommends using the RadioTaxi4242 company. Yes, Uber is availbe but RadioTaxi4242 is cheaper and offers better service. To order a taxi, text the WhatsApp number below for immediate service or to schedule ahead. They will understand English. When and where is the Fiesole walking tour?

Answer

This tour is available only to people who previously signed up for it. If you signed up for a Fiesole walking tour, you should have received an email from Bianca with the subject line "[Bianca & Matthew's Wedding] Walking Tour of Fiesole info]." All walking tours will take place on Friday, September September 5th. The email you received includes your tour start time. The walking tour begins by the "bus turistici" bus stop located in front of the Cathedral at Piazza Mino, which is the central square of Fiesole. The tour will last about one hour. If you are staying at Fattoria di Maiano, please be at the front entrance at 30 minutes prior to your tour start time. There will be a shuttle arriving to take you directly to where the tour begins.  If you are staying in Fiesole, simply walk down to Piazza Mino.  If you are staying in Florence, you can take the 7 bus or a taxi to Piazza Mino. Do I need an adapter for my electronics?

Answer

Yes, Italy and the U.S. have different outlets. A 2-prong Type C outlet adapter should work well. Here is an example: https://a.co/d/b9B0f7I

Do I need cash or will cards work?

Answer

Most places take Visa and Mastercard. American Express is accepted at some places but not at others. Some places (including public transportation) also use Apple Pay. However, it's always a great idea to have cash (Euros) on hand.

How do I get into Florence?

Answer

The 7 bus goes into Florence and runs frequently. Public transportation uses Apple Pay, so all you have to do is tap your card! If you are staying in Fiesole, you can walk to the bus stop at Piazza Mino. If you are staying at Fattoria di Maiano, you can use our shuttle service (see above FAQ) to take you to the center of Fiesole. From there, you can easily take the bus into Florence. Take the bus to the last stop (Liberta' Porta San Gallo). From there, the center is walking distance. You can also take another bus or a tram depending on where you want to go. Please consult your maps app :)

Are mosquitoes an issue?

Answer

There are mosquitoes in the area and the wedding will take place on a farm. The venue will spray for mosquitoes and flies prior to the wedding events. However, you might like to bring bug repellent spray/wipes for your comfort.
