FAQs

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

It’s the tropics, so a quick passing shower is always possible. If it rains, we will pivot to our backup plan, and it will be beautiful. If it pours, please remember that humidity is excellent for the complexion, and we will all just look incredibly radiant and dewy.

Question

Will there be a lot of traditional wedding protocols?

Answer

Not even a little bit. Despite the Mexican and Russian heritage, we are tossing the rulebook (and the superstitions) out the window. No smash-the-glass, no money dances, no lengthy formal rituals. We are keeping it streamlined so we can get straight to the best parts: good food, great drinks, and actual quality time with you.

Question

What’s the plan for after we say "I do"?

Answer

We are keeping things moving right along! Immediately following the ceremony, we will all be heading over to our wedding venue at Papa Kona for dinner and drinks. We apologize in advance for making you drive back and forth, but we promise the food, views, and celebration will make it entirely worth the trip!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes. The drinks are flowing, and we are picking up the tab! Your only job is to celebrate with us, keep your glass full, and make sure you have a safe ride home. Drink responsibly ;)

Question

Will there be a dramatic bouquet toss?

Answer

Given the small crowd, a bouquet toss would essentially just be me aggressively throwing flowers directly at Darby. To avoid any athletic injuries, we're skipping it.

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Absolutely. We have a DJ lined up, and the dance floor is non-negotiable. Whether you have rhythm or just a lot of enthusiasm, we expect to see you out there. Low-effort side-stepping will be heavily judged; full-effort, terrible dancing is highly encouraged.
