It was the fall of 2011 in AP Biology when Andrew and Bianca's paths crossed--they were immediately drawn to each others' smarts and wit and easily became friends (with a secret crush maybe?). Even though Bianca was a year ahead in school, they stayed in touch and both ended up completing their undergraduate degrees at the University of Arizona. Despite life taking them in different directions after college, they both knew they were a special person in each others' lives, and, in a classic slow burn fashion--and with the help of a global shut down during a pandemic--decided to call it official in 2020. They were faced with the daunting challenges of living in completely different states and time zones during medical school, and conquered an even bigger challenge when the (mean and nasty and awful) residency match decided that undergoing residency training 2,246 miles apart would be a nice idea. Despite all the odds, their relationship only got stronger and Andrew popped the question while on the beach at Hanalei Bay, Kauai, to which Bianca responded "My tummy hurts" which was as good as any yes could be. Andrew and Bianca are now *finally* in the same city and are embarking on their attending-hood as an ER physician and pediatric hospitalist. They have been graciously given a place to stay by their two dogs Lola and Mancha (it is their world and we are just living in it). ~ Thank you so much for being an impactful part of our lives--we can't wait to celebrate with you! ~
