The Blue Bridge stretches across the Grand River with access points next to GVSU's Eberhard Center and the Grand Rapids River walk near Plaza Towers. The bridge was originally constructed in 1892 as a railroad bridge, but now has been converted into a pedestrian walk. The Blue Bridge is iconic to the city and is the one of the longest truss bridges in Michigan.
Rosa Parks Circle is a plaza located in the heart of Grand Rapids, Michigan. During the warmer months it is a multipurpose facility, acting as a venue for events like concerts or dances put on by the Grand Rapids Original Swing Society. In the winter the Circle is converted to an ice rink.
La Grande Vitesse, a public sculpture by American artist Alexander Calder, is located on the large concrete plaza surrounding City Hall and the Kent County Building. Serving as a symbol of Grand Rapids, this eye-catching steel sculpture measures 54 feet long, 43 feet high and 30 feet wide, and is painted in the artist's signature "Calder Red."
