The Ashby Inn is a quaint Bed & Breakfast that is a convenient, 12 minute drive from our wedding venue. The inn dates to 1829 and is steeped in Civil War history. Stonewall Jackson slept on the front porch on his way to the First Battle of Manassas, and Ulysses S. Grant camped there with his troops. There are 10 rooms, as well as a delicious farm-to-table restaurant onsite.

The Red Fox Inn & Tavern

Established in 1728, the Red Fox Inn is a historic inn with 22 rooms, as well as a pub and tavern onsite. The inn is situated in the center of Middleburg, a beautiful and historic town adjacent to Upperville which has plenty of shops and dining options. If you stay at the Red Fox, you'll be joining an illustrious guest list including George Washington, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor. The Red Fox is a 15 minute drive from our wedding venue.

Welbourne Farm & Inn

Welbourne Farm was the home of Civil War Col. Richard Henry Dulaney. The home has remained in the Dulaney family and is now run as a bed & breakfast and horse retirement farm by his great-great-grandson. Many historical characters have stayed the night, including the writers F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Wolfe, both of whom later published stories using Welbourne as their setting. The house has 5 main guest rooms with wood-burning fireplaces and private baths. There are an additional three smaller attached rooms for children which share baths. A hearty Southern breakfast is served each morning at the dining room table. All the common rooms are open to guests, in addition to a covered back porch with plenty of rocking chairs. Cocktails are served every evening at 6:30 in the Parlour.

The Hunt Box at Lowelands Farm

This unique Airbnb property is situated on a family farm and designed as a traditional English Hunt Box, with equine art and memorabilia, lovely antiques, oriental carpets on wide-plank oak and chestnut floors, a stone fireplace and high-end bed linens. There are two bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor and a cosy den/bedroom with a full bath on the main level. The property is also home to the owner's miniature donkey, Pumpkin, their grandson's dairy herd, and their Scottish Highland cow, Fiona. You'll be in close proximity to the Virginia State Arboretum at Blandy, Oatlands Plantation, Morven Park, Long Branch, and numerous other historical homes and gardens. L'Auberge Provencale Bed and Breakfast

L'Auberge Provencale is a charming French country style inn considered to be one of the most romantic in Virginia. Once known as Mount Airy, the estate started as part of Lord Fairfax’s expansive Northern Virginia holdings. The pristine 880 acres surrounding the inn were surveyed by George Washington in the 1740s, and the limestone inn dates to 1753. The inn has been family run for over 30 years by an fourth generation Avignon chef and his wife, with an onsite restaurant beloved by D.C. area foodies. An idyllic, family run bed & breakfast with a view of the adjacent Blue Ridge Mountains, the Manor at Airmont is a 20 minute drive from our wedding venue and convenient to many local wineries, breweries and historic estates. Each of the 5 rooms has its own gas fireplace and is beautifully appointed. Guests are welcomed with milk and cookies, and the breakfast gets great reviews.

This charming historic home was purchased by the current owners in 2010. After five years of TLC, they began operating as a B&B. As the 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor will demonstrate, Airwell is the perfect peaceful getaway for adults - and the rates are quite reasonable too. Stay in one of two, romantic standalone cottages, or a suite in the main house. The B&B is a convenient 20 minute drive from our venue.

Located just outside Warrenton, about 25 minutes from the venue, Airlie is a historic house and farm built in 1899 that has earned a coveted "Historic Hotels of America" designation. Despite its historic status, the rooms are fresh and have all the modern comforts you'd expect from a high end hotel. Named after a castle in Scotland, the home also features beautiful gardens, a pool, and an onsite restaurant.

Inn at Evergreen

This 11-bedroom inn, which was once a Civil War era mansion, serves as the centerpiece of the Evergreen Country Club. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and guests can take advantage of the championship golf course, tennis courts and pool. Made to order breakfast is included with all stays, and you can also have dinner at the onsite restaurant. The inn is about 30 minutes from our venue in Haymarket, not far from Manassas National Battlefield Park.

An affordable lodging option in Hunter's hometown of Winchester, 30 minutes from the wedding venue. This hotel used to be an Aloft, so it is a little more "hip" than your average La Quinta. The hotel is convenient to Old Town Winchester, a quaint historic district with plenty of shops and restaurants. History buffs will find this location to be a great jumping off point for exploring the nearby Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Stonewall Jackson's former headquarters, and other important Civil War landmarks.
