Stonewall Jackson slept on the front porch on his way to the First Battle of Manassas, and Ulysses S. Grant camped there with his troops. There are 10 rooms, as well as a delicious farm-to-table restaurant onsite.

Welbourne Farm was the home of Civil War Col. Richard Henry Dulaney. The home has remained in the Dulaney family and is now run as a bed & breakfast and horse retirement farm by his great-great-grandson. Many historical characters have stayed the night, including the writers F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Wolfe, both of whom later published stories using Welbourne as their setting. The house has 5 main guest rooms with wood-burning fireplaces and private baths. There are an additional three smaller attached rooms for children which share baths. A hearty Southern breakfast is served each morning at the dining room table. All the common rooms are open to guests, in addition to a covered back porch with plenty of rocking chairs. Cocktails are served every evening at 6:30 in the Parlour.

Once known as Mount Airy, the estate started as part of Lord Fairfax’s expansive Northern Virginia holdings. The inn has been family run for over 30 years by an fourth generation Avignon chef and his wife, with an onsite restaurant beloved by D.C. area foodies. There are 11 rooms at the main inn and 3 additional suites at the Villa La Campagnette on the property. As the 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor will demonstrate, Airwell is the perfect peaceful getaway for adults - and the rates are quite reasonable too. Stay in one of two, romantic standalone cottages, or a suite in the main house. The B&B is a convenient 20 minute drive from our venue.

Despite its historic status, the rooms are fresh and have all the modern comforts you'd expect from a high end hotel. Named after a castle in Scotland, the home also features beautiful gardens, a pool, and an onsite restaurant.

The inn is about 30 minutes from our venue in Haymarket, not far from Manassas National Battlefield Park.

An affordable lodging option in Hunter's hometown of Winchester, 30 minutes from the wedding venue. This hotel used to be an Aloft, so it is a little more "hip" than your average La Quinta. The hotel is convenient to Old Town Winchester, a quaint historic district with plenty of shops and restaurants. History buffs will find this location to be a great jumping off point for exploring the nearby Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Stonewall Jackson's former headquarters, and other important Civil War landmarks.
