Bangor International Airport is the airport we use most often for travel and is just over an hour drive to downtown Bar Harbor. There is an attached hotel and rental cars available at this airport.

The Bar Harbor Airport is a small, regional airport and is the closest one to Bar Harbor, just a 20 minute drive. All flights from this airport go to Boston and connections can be made from there to other destinations. Rental cars are available at the airport.

Portland International Jetport (PWM)

Portland International Jetport is a little over 3 hours drive to downtown Bar Harbor. Rental cars are available at this airport. (Make sure you choose the correct Portland airport! PWM)

Bar Harbor Parking

Bar Harbor has parking meters and kiosks throughout downtown. If you are staying outside of downtown and plan to use street parking when in the area you can download the Park Smarter app to make paying for parking more convenient. If you are staying at the Harborside Hotel, parking is included with your room and all of downtown Bar Harbor is within walking distance from the hotel.

This Bar Harbor Regency is right on the water and about 1.5 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. We will have a block of rooms at this hotel at a lower price-point than at the downtown hotel. To make this trip most convenient for our out of town guests, we recommend staying on Mount Desert Island which includes the towns of Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Mount Desert, Southwest Harbor, and Tremont. Because there is only one road onto Mount Desert Island it is often a bottle neck that can cause long delays at certain times of the day, especially in the summer.
