As much as we hate to admit it, we actually met on the dating app Dil Mil. Bhavin messaged first, and Shivani replied a day later—then promptly disappeared for a couple of months. At the time, Bhavin was in Georgia and Shivani was in California, and we both wondered if a long-distance connection could really work, so the conversation faded. A few months later, during a quiet holiday break, we decided to pick the conversation back up—and Bhavin replied right away. From that point on, we talked all day, and the sparks were undeniable. Soon after, we found ourselves talking every single day for the next two to three months, growing closer despite the distance. During that time, Bhavin’s mom was bravely battling cancer and sadly passed away. Although she never got to meet Shivani in person, she knew about her and even sent a video from hospice. That connection meant so much to both of us, and we truly believe that Bhavin’s mom played a special role in bringing us together. We dated for about a year and a half before Bhavin proposed during a vacation in Bali—a moment that marked the beginning of the next chapter of our story.
