Kindly RSVP by November 19th.
While we generally believe in "the more, the merrier", unfortunately space is limited at the venue and so we don't have room for any extras. We would have indicated on your invitation if we were able to provide you with a +1.
We welcome kids and dogs to our wedding (and yes, there will be both present), but we would have let you know directly ahead of time if yours were invited. If you haven't heard from us, please reach out to ask before bringing any +1 children or furry friends. Infants are always welcomed and are outside the scope of this rule!
The ceremony and reception are all happening at the same place, Heron's Hollow, in Stewartstown, PA. The venue is a 31 acre property (complete with a pond!) that we have all to ourselves for the event. The reception will take place inside a large heated barn. We'll also have a partly-heated 40x20' tent with additional activities inside, and a patio complete with a fire pit (and s'more making station).
The restrooms for this venue are basically fancy raised porto-johns. They're set up on a platform and do require our guests to walk up a few steps. Although the reception barn is poured concrete, the outdoor areas of the venue require traversing on gravel and grassy areas.
We're asking everyone who can, to please take the provided shuttle (not ADA accessible; it's a yellow school bus) from the Shrewsbury Hampton Inn to/from the venue. Parking is extremely limited at the venue AND we'd like to limit our liability with people drinking and driving. Safety first! See the schedule for more details on shuttle departure times. One way on the shuttle takes about 8-10 minutes.
If you're taking the shuttle, parking at the Shrewsbury Hampton Inn is free. You can park there regardless of whether or not you're staying at the hotel. If you need to drive directly to the venue, please let us know in your RSVP. Parking at the venue is limited and will be on gravel or grass.
We'll be having the ceremony in the same heated barn as the reception, but bring your fancy furs and maybe a blanket just in case! You may decide you want them later, since the party will have spaces to hang out that are both indoor and outdoor around a fire.
During the ceremony, there will be an opportunity for anybody to stand up and say a few words (less than 1 minute) to Matt + Bexx. If you're thinking already that you'd like to be one of those people, please indicate that in your RSVP. We'd like to try and get a headcount for this ahead of time.
We are thrilled to be working with Chef John Stewart of Kitchen 519!
We will be serving up his/hers cocktail/mocktail options (batched by Bexx), alongside a selection of wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options.
As you might expect, our wedding band(s) and DJ are also our talented friends and community members! Prepare to get down to the musical stylings of Sean Youngman (pre-ceremony), Quixote Project/members from The Law Abiding Citizens (cocktail hour), Nik Greeley and the Operators (7:30-10), and DJ Sunryze (10-11:45pm), with some fun surprises and guest appearances along the way.
We'll be curating a variety of spaces for play amongst our guests beyond the usual wedding scope of food/drinking/dancing. Think: showcased art, ROMPUS-style "everybody paints" with shadow dancing, games, cuddle-puddles, photo booths, and more.
Our wedding is an opportunity for our community to get fancy, whatever that means to you! Break out your finest fashion for this one, but feel free to put your own twist on it. (Think: If Beardfest went to prom.) The theme is enchanted wintertime forest, if you're into that kind of thing! You'll want to rethink stilettos, however, as the ground may be soft/squishy, and you will definitely be required to traverse on gravel.
We encourage you to limit your use of cell phones at this event (other than for pictures) and just be present in the experience! Service at the venue is extremely limited (or for some, non-existent), so be prepared for that possibility.
