On Kate's favorite day of the year (Black Friday) it's tradition to decorate for Christmas, and of course do some shopping. This past Black Friday, started like any magical Black Friday does with a family brunch just the three of us, Seth, Kate, & Kairi followed by a little bit of that shopping. To Kate's delight, when we got home Seth got started putting up the Christmas lights outside while Kate turned up the Christmas music and decorated the inside of the house with Kairi. Once it got dark outside, Seth gathered Kate, Kairi, and Rho for the big reveal - the house was glimmering! (You thought I was going to say he popped the question, well so did I! False alarm.) As the night went on, Kate prepared some snacks and Seth worked on putting Kairi down for bed. (She knew something was amiss because she would NOT go to sleep that night). An hour and a half later Seth was finally able to join for snacks and relaxation. So we turned on Halo for the first time in forever. We took turns pwning noobs in multiplayer slayer, neck & neck with a K/D of about 0.2... (We were a little rusty). In our gaming banter, it came up how annoying it would be to have a ring clinking against the controller as I was playing. I, on the other hand, did not think it would be that annoying. The next thing I see is Seth reaching into his (sweatpants) pocket and pulls out... chapstick. REALLY FUNNY SETH! I look away for a second, and when I looked back at him again the chapstick was gone - he had the most beautiful ring in his hand! Anyone who knows Seth knows he's a man of few words, but I will never forget how I felt when I heard those two words: "marry me?" As you could've guessed, I said "yes!" and here we are, after over 8 years of dating, wonderful memories, a beautiful daughter, the most goofy pup, to make the most loving family I could've asked for. Yes, a thousand times yes!
