In high school, we’d stay up way too late just hanging out, talking about everything and nothing, making the most of those carefree nights. And in college, not much changed—same late-night laughs, same sense of fun, just in a new setting with a little more freedom (and a lot more caffeine). Emily’s the kind of friend you can do *anything* with—run errands, go on spontaneous adventures, or just sit in silence and still have the best time. We even lived together during COVID. We leaned on each other, kept each other sane, and turned a strange time into something we’ll always remember with laughter and gratitude. She’s more than a teammate or a roommate—she’s one of those once-in-a-lifetime friends who just *gets* you, and who makes every moment better just by being there.

She’s the kind of friend who makes even an ordinary night feel unforgettable. And even after life took us in different directions, our friendship never missed a beat. One of the best examples of that? When she came all the way to Toronto to visit me for a Pearl Jam concert. That trip was classic Ellie—fun, spontaneous, and filled with the kind of moments that remind you how lucky you are to have someone like her in your life. One of the best things about our friendship was our shared love for terrible music. We’d listen to these bands that, in hindsight, were *really* bad, but at the time, we swore they were the greatest. What’s even crazier is that, somehow, I ended up seeing Siiro more in Toronto than I ever did in the States. Whether it was for a concert, a random trip, or just to hang out, she somehow kept popping up in Toronto, and every time, it felt like no time had passed at all. Siiro is that friend who’s always up for a good time, no matter how silly or unplanned, and I’m so glad we crossed paths at Marian. She’s the one who can turn any moment into an adventure.
