We recommend flying into the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE). Located just 10 minutes from downtown Aspen, this small and convenient airport makes summer travel a breeze. It’s easy to navigate, and you'll find rental cars, shuttles, taxis, and rideshare services like Uber and Lyft readily available to get you from the airport to your hotel.
Flight
If you choose to fly into Denver International Airport (DEN), plan for about a 4-hour drive to Aspen. Renting a car is recommended, as there are limited public transportation options between Denver and Aspen. The drive is easy in the summer. Plus, airline prices into Denver are often more affordable, making this a budget-friendly option. Along the way, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Rockies, with highlights like the breathtaking Glenwood Canyon or the iconic Independence Pass, which are especially beautiful in the summer. However, keep in mind that traffic leaving Denver on Friday afternoons and returning to Denver on Sunday afternoons can add delays to your drive. To avoid delays, plan your flight times accordingly and consider traveling outside of peak hours.
