To visit the Maroon Bells hiking trails, you need to take a shuttle bus from Aspen Highlands. During the summer and fall months, private vehicles are not allowed to drive directly to the Maroon Bells, and the shuttle service from Aspen Highlands provides access to the area. The bus ride takes you to the Maroon Bells Scenic Area, where you can access hiking trails like the Maroon Lake Scenic Trail or the Crater Lake Trail. Be sure to check shuttle schedules and make reservations in advance, as spots can fill up quickly during peak season.
A famous lunch spot beloved by locals and visitors alike, the Woody Creek Tavern is a great place to grab a bite and enjoy the Aspen vibe. Devon and Bethany first visited WCT together in 2018. You’ll need to bike or arrange transportation, but it’s well worth the trip!
The Aspen Saturday Market runs every Saturday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, from mid-June through October, right in downtown Aspen along Hyman Avenue and Hunter Street. You’ll find local farmers, food vendors, artisans, and more, with everything from fresh produce to handmade jewelry and delicious baked goods. It’s a lively spot that’s perfect for wandering around, especially in August when the weather is great!
Head to Snowmass Village every Thursday evening from June 13-August 22nd. at 6:30 for a free concert series. Make sure to bring your picnic basket and blanket, and sit on the ski slope to enjoy a variety of music from many touring bands.
