The venue is located in Red Cliff, CO, which you'll hit just before driving into Vail. We'd recommend looking in Vail and surrounding towns for lodging! The drive from Vail to the venue is ~30-35 min.
We assume most guests will have to book rental cars and/or carpool, but there is plenty of parking available at the venue! If you are interested in a shuttle from Vail, we are happy to arrange for that with the venue (although disclaimer: there won't be much alcohol available, so you shouldn't need to worry about that).
Vail is located at an elevation of 8,150 ft, and our venue is at 9,200 ft. For our friends and family from out of state, that's a pretty significant jump from sea level. If you fly in a day before the wedding and have time to acclimate to Denver altitude (5,280'), this will make the transition much easier. Be sure to hydrate lots, don't attempt any overly strenuous hikes, and take time to rest if you start feeling lightheaded. We will definitely have plenty of water available when you arrive at the venue!
Unless you are accustomed and acclimatized to high altitude (i.e. local, and even if you are a local, please be careful), please do not attempt this. There are many local trails that are reasonable alternatives for those from out of state, sea level regions. In this case, the risk of altitude sickness from ascending to 14,000+ ft above sea level outweighs the beauty of 14er views.
