We were brought into each other's lives in 2015 right here in Madison, Wisconsin. The now defunct Tiki Shack provided Natasha the necessary liquid courage for that fateful first message to Beth, and it wasn't long until we were spending every spare minute together!
We made so many memories during our time in Madison. Between exploring the famous Dane County Farmers Market, dining around all of downtown's delicious restaurants, and enjoying picnics on the shores of Lake Mendota and Monona, we fell in love with this town - and we fell in love with each other.
It wasn't long until we were ready for something new outside the Midwest. At the start of 2017, we rented our first apartment together and moved across the country to Seattle, WA! For two years, we explored the Pacific Northwest together on hikes, ferry rides, grocery shopping at Pike Place Market, and devouring all the fresh seafood we could handle.
Of course, our story wouldn't be complete without the real star of the show. Moose joined our little family in the fall of '18, and through her eyes, we scampered around every dog park and dog-friendly hike in the area. (And through the humans' eyes, we suffered through a lot of puppy training!)
Seattle will always be such a special place to us. But as much as we loved it, we weren't quite ready to settle down. A job change for Beth gave us the opportunity to both work remotely, and we started researching and planning our next big move: renovating an RV and living in it - on the road - full time!
Between our Uhaul trip across the country from Seattle to Indiana and starting the RV renovation, we made time for a beach getaway for Natasha's 30th birthday, where Beth popped the question! Most people would probably have started wedding planning at that point, but we've never liked to do things the way people expect. Plus, we had adventures awaiting us!
Our RV adventure started with an intense six months of DIY renovation, where we transformed a fifteen-year-old fifth wheel into a cozy home that suited our style and needs. We hit the road on July 4, 2019 and immediately fell in love with full-time RVing! In our first year, we hiked the Badlands and Black Hills of South Dakota, explored up to 14,000 feet in colorful Colorado, were mesmerized by hot air balloons in New Mexico, and had so many other breathtaking experiences while roaming the country.
After a year and a half of living in our tiny home (including through a pandemic), we decided the fifth wheel was just too much space for us! We sold our first little home to a personal friend, and switched to a much smaller truck camper - 72 square feet, to be exact. On top of that, we figured after being engaged for 2 years that it was finally time to start planning our wedding!
We can't wait to celebrate this next adventure with all of you. Even though we don't get to see everyone anywhere near as often as we'd like, we love all of you so much and are so excited to spend our wedding weekend together. So we will see you all in Madison on June 4, 2022!
