Bethany and Jeff owe their entire relationship to the Social In Boston 20s-30s Meet Up group! The group hosted an event at the now-extinct Vlora Lounge in Copley Square in July 2014. They both were new to the city--Jeff moved from Dayton, Ohio in May and Bethany arrived by way of Shepherdstown, West Virginia just a week before the meet up event! Jeff and Bethany began talking, first about their upcoming birthdays (Jeff is only two days older than Bethany), and spent the rest of the night exchanging stories about travel, teaching, and college. To Bethany's surprise, Jeff called the next day to meet up to watch part of the World Cup in Porter Square. Talking sports over a couple of drinks (Jeff scored major points when he asked the bartender to move the Orioles game to a closer TV so Bethany could watch) led to dinner at Saloon in Davis Square, which led to dating, which led to travel, Bruins games, and a perpetually growing list of adventures...

For Bethany's Christmas gift, Jeff made reservations for New Years Eve dinner at Top of the Hub in the Prudential Building. After an amazing dinner overlooking all of Boston, Bethany and Jeff braved the -10 degree windchill to walk into Copley Square to see the Boston First Night festivities. After looking at the ice sculptures they decided to call it a night and head back to Brookline for a drink at Regal Beagle before midnight. Before they left, however, Jeff said there was one more thing he had to do, so on the steps of Boston Public Library Bethany said yes! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives together, with all of our family and friends, in the exact same place!
