Updated Wedding Date!

To the Honorable Citizens of the Galactic Republic of America,  The Rebel Alliance regretfully announces that our grand celebration of unity has encountered unforeseen turbulence in the galaxy. As Emperor Palpatine’s shadow looms over the economy like a Death Star, our rebel base has been temporarily compromised. While we regroup and fortify our defenses, we must delay the joyous occasion of the wedding union. But fear not, for love, much like the Force, is strong with us! With hope burning brighter than twin suns, we are thrilled to announce the new date for our galactic wedding celebration, which will be September 19th, 2026, in Hastings, MN. We invite all courageous rebels, loyal droids, and esteemed Jedi to mark your calendars for September 19th of 2026. The Empire may try, but nothing can extinguish the power of love and rebellion.  May the Force be with us all. 

It all started on a site called Bumble. We matched on May 16th, 2022, and Bethani messaged first via the app. She wasn't sure if anything would come of the date, but Jamie thought she was cute. After a day of talking, Jamie asked Bethani to go on a date. They had our first date on May 20th at a restaurant called Lago Tacos. We couldn't stop talking all night, and the rest was history.

It was a simple Monday evening on August 8th, 2022. After a dinner of tacos and watching TV, Bethani first said, "I love you." Jamie immediately said it afterward. Both knew it was true love. They have never stopped saying "I love you" to each other every day since.

Jamie met Bethani's family on May 24th, 2023. The visit was a great experience for everyone involved. Bethani's family welcomed Jamie warmly, and they spent the day getting to know each other. They shared stories and enjoyed a delicious meal together. Everyone bonded over their mutual interests and shared laughter throughout the visit. By the end of the visit, Jamie felt like part of the family, and Bethani's family expressed their happiness and approval of Jamie. It was a memorable visit that strengthened the relationship between Jamie and Bethani's family.

Bethani first met Jamie's mother on December 3rd, 2022. She was sweet, feisty, and kind. Jamie's mom told him she liked Bethani and that Jamie should marry Bethani. He listened. Unfortunately, she passed away a few months later in March of 2023. Bethani was honored to have met her, and both Jamie and Bethani wish she was here to be at the wedding. Jamie and I often talk about her, cherishing the moments we had with her. Her spirit and the love she showed continue to inspire us. We plan to include a special tribute to her in our wedding ceremony, ensuring her presence is felt on our special day.

For a long time, both Jamie and Bethani talked about marriage. On their first date, they discussed their goals and what they wanted for the future. One Monday evening, out of the blue, Jamie turned to Bethani and asked, "What are you doing with the rest of your life?" Bethani was confused, so Jamie clarified that he wanted to get married sooner rather than later and suggested May 4th. Bethani, still uncertain, asked if he was serious. In response, Jamie got down on one knee and asked again, making his intentions clear. He could not wait any longer and wanted to get married within the next month. Overcome with excitement and love, they made plans to get married on May 4th, 2024. Their spontaneous decision was a testament to their deep connection and the certainty they felt about spending their lives together.

On May 4th, 2024, Jamie and Bethani became husband and wife. In a little chapel in Wisconsin Dells, they exchanged vows while sitting in their car. Their eagerness to get married led them to this unique and intimate ceremony. Afterward, they celebrated by eating tacos and watching Star Wars. The rest is history.
