A mere months before the pandemic swept our world, Justice waltzed into mine by way of his online dating profile. We met on an app called Hinge, connected on a Monday and had our first date on Wednesday. Justice was planning on deleting the app and had settled on the conclusion that maybe it wasn't how he would meet someone.. I had just finished a year long break from social media, and Justice was one of my first dates after that year long hiatus. Our first date was at an Irish Sports Pub, where Justice frequented to watch Chelsea soccer matches. While it wasn't the dictionary definition of a great first date location- it ended up being our perfect first date location. Conversation flowed easily and the connection was there. Even though Justice thought I wasn't interested at the end of our evening, because I reluctantly obliged to his request to open my car door. saying, "it's not necessary". Justice thought that was the end of our interaction, but I reached out a couple days later, reiterating my interest in him and hoping we could meet again soon. Justice scheduled our second date for a Sunday evening where we went to L.A. Burdick downtown for hot chocolate and then to the movies to see Little Women (a MUCH better date location and plan). At the end of the date Justice told me he loved me, and I called my mom the next day asking when we could come to visit- I knew that Justice was the answer to a lot of prayers prayed. "When you know, you know" That saying always made me frustrated and prompted eye rolls from me, but I can attest the adage is true. Throughout the last year and a half, with lots of big life events and tragedies, my trust and confidence in Justice and in our relationship has not once wavered. He has led the way in helping us build a strong foundation together, with God as the center. On April 24th he asked me to marry him. We can't wait to continue to learn and grow together as husband and wife!
