What does a "Summer Semi-Formal" dress code mean?

Answer

We don't really know but thought it sounded right. To us, it means jackets and/or ties welcome, but not required. Women have more leeway: dresses, skirts, slacks, colorful or simple, sunny or fancy, short or long, are all welcome. Have fun with it. Late July will likely mean hot and humid weather and we want everyone to be comfortable.
