Why meet on the internet once when you can do it twice? Beth and Alisha first matched on Bumble in 2017, but their kindling turned to fire after rematching on Tinder in Spring 2018. On March 3, 2018, Alisha and Beth met for the first time at Dupont City Tap House. They both knew from the start that they had met someone special. Music, travel, hiking, and a love of family are some of the shared interests that tie their relationship together. Alisha first said “I love you” after a George Ezra concert (stay tuned for their first dance!). They’ve shared their hopes and dreams while hiking in the Swiss alps and clawing over rocks in Jackson, WY and Acadia. But no place is more special to them than where their family is. Whether it was introducing Alisha to Barbara before Beth’s housewarming party, or celebrating Alisha’s 31st birthday surrounded by her family and childhood best friend in Stowe, VT, family is central to Beth and Alisha — and they can’t wait to start a new family together. Oh, please don’t forget about Benji and Louie (the cats)! Alisha and Beth are the only two humans in the world that Louie will cuddle. Benji is not as picky, but he loves their shadows and belly rubs. Although Beth is usually good at sniffing out a surprise, Alisha blindsided Beth (in the most positive way) with her proposal. A fake dinner reservation got them into their best outfits. Arriving early for dinner allowed a pre-dinner walk around the Washington, D.C. monuments. In front of the Lincoln Memorial, Alisha asked Beth to take the next step in their relationship. Alisha deserved her own surprise, so a few weeks later, Beth packed a backpack with a picnic, a slideshow of their best memories, and a ring. Beth took Alisha on Billy Goat Trail A, picking the hottest day of the year to rock scramble. Finding a secluded spot wasn’t easy, but found it they did to watch the ten-minute slideshow (and take a much-needed break). At the end, Beth asked Alisha the big question back. Together, they’ve faced a pandemic, ACL tears, job changes, grief, and many other challenges along the way. Although there is no promise that days ahead will be easier, they know that every day will be better and brighter when faced together. Alisha and Beth cannot wait to celebrate their marriage with you all! Pack your dancing shoes. The rest is optional.
