Big Pit offers a 50-minute underground tour that is truly a unique experience. Tours run daily from 10am-3.30pm. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The mine was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. Bethan’s great grandfather worked in the mine and it’s a special place for the Jones family!
Wales has the most castles per square mile in the world! There are over 600, but Chepstow and Raglan are the closet.
There are many Welsh coastal towns and villages to explore! We went in November 2023 and had a blast, even during off-peak season. Tenby is about 2 hours from the hotel but a great place to visit. If you visit, St Catherine's Island & Fort is a must-see! We also had a fantastic time visiting St. David's Cathedral (also in Pembrokeshire) and Abereiddi's Blue Lagoon, which is nearby.
For those venturing up North, Snowdonia is a mountainous region and national park in North Wales. It has stunning scenery and hiking trails. We hiked Cader Idris in 2023 and it was one of our favorite memories. Just remember how early the sun sets in November (or you'll be forced to make an expeditious descent like us!)
There are so many things to see in London it’s hard to know where to begin! Some of our favorite spots include: The Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, and Buckingham Palace. Afternoon tea is also fun activity. For those who like to shop, be sure to check out Bond Street. London’s Christmas lights and markets should also be open by the Wedding. Christmas in Covent Garden is a magical place. The Regent Street Christmas lights are also a must-see.
