High Five! We're FINALLY going to celebrate with our most cherished friends and family!

After two LONG years and postponing our date 4 times (!) we are so excited to finally renew our vows with our family & friends present! Many of you said that when it finally happens that the celebration would be even bigger, we're going to hold you all to those words and look forward to laughing and dancing the night away with you all! Thanks for continuing to be part of our journey and supporting us along the way! We can't wait to see you all in Dallas, 3/20/2022 for what we fondly refer to as "Wedding 2.0"! Love, Kathryn & David

March 2020... The start of a global pandemic and the first glimpse of this long "unprecedented time". We postponed our wedding 1 week before the date and were quarantined in our house together for several weeks. It was a scary time in the world but we still managed to have fun together. Whether it was picking up to go coffee/brunch from all our favorite local spots and having a "The Office" marathon all day, or having a blowup pool in the backyard, fondly referred to as our "redneck pool days". As difficult as postponing was, we took comfort in knowing it was absolutely the correct decision and that we had each other. As time went on we realized that it would likely be a very long time until we could have our wedding but really wanted to be husband and wife. We decided to elope by ourselves and, despite more lockdowns and plan changes, we had a lovely ceremony outside at one of our favorite neighborhood eatery's with Reverend Alex our pastor and Maria our photographer & friend. We then moved across the country and bought a house in Greenville, NC where I had accepted my first attending faculty position. We have loved being married and have grown so much together the last two years!

Our story: Kathryn was a senior and David was a sophomore in college when they met in physics class. Throughout Kathryn's final year in college they studied together, partied together and became best friends. Kathryn owes David so much for helping her get through physics those last two semesters of college... she may not have gotten into medical school without him! Throughout the post-college years they remained close friends and were each others "go to" wedding dates. Finally, it was at the wedding of mutual friends in the spring of 2014 when sparks started to fly! They went on their first official date in September 2014 at, surprise, another wedding! This time David asked Kathryn to be his official date and she accepted. They dated long distance for the first three years of their relationship, as Kathryn was completing her Pediatric residency in San Antonio, TX and David was continuing his career with EMC in Minneapolis, MN. Long distance was relatively easy for them as they are both very independent but always longed for more time when the weekend trips came to an end. Many of their weekends together were spent celebrating weddings all over the North America from Laguna Beach to Kansas City & St Louis to Charleston! After Kathryn matched to fellowship in Dallas, David was able to find a great career opportunity there as well and they finally were in the same city in the fall of 2017. The transition from living across the country to living together was a bit shocking but they learned a lot about each other and fell even more in love along the way. On August 11, 2018 they were hiking Enchanted Rock outside of Fredericksburg, Texas, at the top David proposed and of course Kathryn said yes! The rest of the weekend was spent calling family & friends to share the great news and sipping their favorite Texas wines!
