Are you hoping to give a speech? Are you needing help booking a room? Are you wanting to come but you're confused about what to wear? Reach out to Amanda or Drew if any questions above apply to you. This is an adults only event. Please leave your young ones at home.
When leaving the portland metro area, it makes sense to head to Hood River for the weekend. Please note parking at Horsetail Falls is extremely limited. Plan to carpool or organize with others to leave one car at Multnomah Falls or in a different parking area. You may want to arrive 20/30 minutes beforehand to find parking.
The ceremony is in the Columbia River Gorge, which is one of the most beautiful areas of Oregon. If you'd like a scenic tour before or after our ceremony, here is the recommended route. Leaving from Portland: 1st stop: Vista House: 40700 Historic Columbia River Hwy, Corbett, OR 97019 2nd stop: LaTourelle Falls 3rd stop: Bridal Veil Falls. This stop has a short hike down with a slight incline back up to the parking. 4th stop: Wahkeena Falls. This falls could be done with a short uphill hike or you can just see it from the bottom as well. 5th stop: Multnomah Falls. One of Oregon's tallest waterfalls. 6th stop: Horsetail Falls! This is where we will be holding our ceremony Friday afternoon. If you're invested in more spectacular hiking and waterfalls, we suggest Walchella and Munra falls which is a few stops after Horsetail. Other hiking recommendations for the area: Falls Creek Falls, Eagle Creek, Angel's Rest, & Triple Falls.
Expect rain or wetness from the waterfall. Expect it to be loud due to the rushing water. Expect to stand. Do not come hungry or thirsty as there will be no food or drink provided. Our ceremony is intentionally intimate as we only want to share our vows in a beautiful space with a smaller group. If it is very important to you that you are at our ceremony reach out to us and we can potentially make changes.
The Hood River Hotel does not have its own designated parking lot, but rather offers paid street parking and parking vouchers for metered spots from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Guests can use the hotel's loading zone to drop off luggage, then purchase a voucher for nearby street parking. Here's what to know about parking at the Hood River Hotel: • No Dedicated Lot: Because it is a historic hotel, there is no private parking garage. • Street Parking: Parking is on the street in front of and adjacent to the hotel. • Paid Meters: The city of Hood River charges for metered parking in the downtown core from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. • Parking Vouchers: The hotel sells daily parking vouchers to cover these metered fees, making parking more affordable than paying the hourly rate. • Loading Zone: The hotel provides a loading zone for guests to temporarily stop and unload or load luggage. Free Overnight Parking: Parking on the street is often free overnight, but you will need to pay for a permit or voucher to cover morning hours starting at 8 a.m.
Everyone invited to the ceremony is invited to our Friday evening Vintage Hollywood reception. Take your time exploring the beautiful gorge on your way to Hood River where you can have lunch at one of the many recommended restaurants, breweries, and wineries listed. We will all reconvene at the Hood River Hotel at 6pm.
Appetizers, dinner, and desserts will be served. Some guests will have seats and others will be standing at cocktail tables. There will be no seating arrangements so prepare to mingle!
DRINK WATER WITH ELECTROLYTES!! Go to Broder for Brunch, take a few more naps, or don't and head to the wineries! Maybe go soak at the Society Hotel to sweat it out. If you're in the Hood River Hotel, make your way to the basement to the sauna to sweat it out. Take a hike?! Do whatever! Just come refreshed and looking goooood!!
Saturday evening will be the stranger of the two, as this is more of Amanda's evening. Food will be served although it will be a slightly lighter fare than the previous night. It will be a dark, romantic and vampiric event so expect it to be a little spooky but nothing scary! We will have a mingle style set up again, so no seats will be assigned. Guests are encouraged to move around and engage with one another.
Enjoy your morning and slowly make your way down to Broder Ost for brunch. Amanda and Drew will have some tables reserved and will be there to say good bye to anyone departing Hood River. Any guests who will be staying in Portland after the event are welcome to come visit us at our home on Monday.
