Lauren and Pat first crossed paths during their freshman year at Marywood University, brought together by mutual friends. Their early connection blossomed through casual “dates” at the dining hall and late-night milkshake runs to Sonic, even though Pat is lactose intolerant. As the year progressed, they studied together in the library and enjoyed weekend parties, deepening their friendship. As summer 2016 approached, their feelings for each other began to grow. Lauren visited Pat and his friends at the Jersey Shore, and shortly after, Pat made his way to Flemington to spend time with her. During the fall of their sophomore year, a pair of drunken phone calls between Lauren and Pat changed everything. On December 21, 2016, they went on their first official date at the Palisades Mall, where they enjoyed ice skating and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was during this special evening that Pat asked Lauren to be his girlfriend. For the past eights years, Lauren and Pat have been on many adventures together. They have visited Martha’s Vineyard many times with Pat's family. They enjoy watching sunrises at the lighthouse, walking around the beautiful town, and drinking mudslides. Pat and Lauren have also taken many trips to the Jersey shore with the Besecker family. They enjoy playing spike ball and riding bikes to Johnny Mac’s for a beer and free pizza. Most recently, Pat and Lauren adventured abroad in Ireland where they kayaked along the coast, kissed the Blarney Stone, and drank lots of Guinness.

After 7.5 years of dating, Pat finally popped the question. With the help of Lauren's friends Katie J and Steph, Lauren believed she was having a girl's night out at the Jersey Shore. Little did Lauren know this girl's night out would come with a shiny new piece of jewelry. Steph and Katie J took Lauren down to the beach to take pictures for Katie J's dating profile and were surprised to see Pat standing on the beach. Lauren dropped her purse and slowly walked over to Pat. Lauren and Pat both had tears in their eyes as Pat got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him.
