Question

Passport – Please Check Expiration Date

Question

Using a credit card in Barbados

Answer

Visa and Mastercard credit cards are widely accepted and you might be able to use your American Express card in some places, too. There are two types of fees you could incur when using your credit card in Barbados: - Foreign transaction fees. Depending on your card, you could pay a fee of up to 3%. This means every $1,000 spent abroad could cost you $30 in fees. - Currency conversion fees. If a merchant offers you the option to pay in US dollars instead of local currency, you’ll get a Dynamic Currency Conversion. This means the local bank will provide the exchange rate, which is usually higher than the mid-market rate.

Question

Barbados Airport Grantley Adams International

Answer

As you approach Barbados you will usually fly along the west coast of the island for a wonderful view of the calm Caribbean Sea coastline. Tip: ask for a seat on the left side of the aircraft to get this view! On arrival you will pass through immigration and customs before exiting the arrival hall. There is an in-bound duty free shop in the Arrivals Terminal. For those arriving on Thursday, May 26th on the 2:15pm flight in from Miami we will arrange group transportation to Cobblers Cove from the airport. Please send us your flight itinerary if you haven’t already so that we can ensure your transportation from the airport is taken care of.

Question

Taxis From Airport to Speightstown

Answer

According to Barbados’ official website, the transportation fee should be $36.50 USD/73.00 BDS. Barbados taxis can be easily identified by the letter “Z” that appears on their license plates. Note that in cases of extra luggage or passengers, a larger vehicle such as a van will be needed. In such cases the rate is 1½ times the normal rate. ALWAYS agree to the fare in local currency with the driver before you set off. https://barbados.org/airport/barbados-airport-taxis.php
