There wouldn’t be an Erica and Steve without a Beth and Sally. Steve’s sister Beth and Erica’s best friend from college Sally were catching up over a video call during the pandemic. Beth mentioned needing to set Steve up, and Sally knew just the person! So one Facebook message later, we began to get to know one another. On August 30, 2020, we had our first date at Caboose Commons in Merrifield, VA. COVID masked at first sight, we enjoyed beers (for him) and cider (for her). From there began a series of creative and pandemic-friendly dates. We enjoyed trips to Old Town Alexandria, a ghost tour of DC, a bike ride along the DC waterfront, winery trips, dinners at Sweetwater Tavern, seeing Christmas lights at Bull Run Park, and several boat trips. Before we knew it, our lives started to feel intertwined. On June 25, 2021, we began the difficult task of sharing a closet (don’t worry, we learned to compromise, and Steve built Erica another closet). Together we have been hard at work making this house a cozy home. One of the best days we’ve shared as a couple was on February 12, 2022, when we brought home our miniature dachshund Bosun. We started our lives as fur parents and have enjoyed every single moment of it. Fast forward to July 1, 2022, Steve proposed to Erica aboard our boat SonFisch III as the sun was setting on the Potomac River. It was a magical evening sharing this moment and looking to our future together. We can’t wait to share our wedding day with all our friends and family. It’s truly going to be a special moment for us, and we can’t wait to be Mr. and Mrs. Fischer!
