Our story so far...

"Wherefore a man shall leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be two in one flesh." - Gen. 2: 24

Once upon a time, there was a Fine British Fellow who met a young Lady over coffee hour after Holy Mass his first Sunday in town. Little did either of them know that this coffee hour was the first of many over the next few months which they would spend chatting and enjoying each other's company. Between Sunday coffee hours and Friday night Masses followed by beer with friends at local pubs, their friendship grew strong and fast. Christmas came, and the Fellow's life took a different turn. With his decision to remain in Vancouver came the opportunity to continue spending Sunday coffee hours weaving in and out of various conversations, only to wind up Sunday after Sunday, chatting freely and easily with the Coffee Making Girl behind the bar. Something was brewing... With Spring came the first date, which, the Lady noted, didn't feel much like a first date at all! (It was far too easy!) Spring morphed into Summer as the two realized more and more how in-sync their souls were. The Fellow flew home for a visit, his Lady followed. Unbeknownst to her, he had bought the ring in the few days he had before she arrived! Yet he knew her well, and didn't pop the question just then. Summer fell into Autumn and Autumn into Winter. After six months of harbouring the secret of the ring, her Fine Fellow knelt down on one knee during a casual walk at their favoured Pitt Lake - but only after requesting she not interrupt until he had said all he had to say! (Ah, he knows her well, indeed.) She did not interrupt, and he said lots of things. So many things, really, that by the time he was quite finished, the only thing she could possibly say was "Yes!" Over one year later, we have come out on the winning side of a battle with Canadian Immigration, both started and settled into new jobs, and faced the closure of our churches for over six months. We are confident we will always have enough coffee, tea, beer, and prayer, to enjoy whatever the next chapters of our book bring about!
