Things To Do

Welcome to Washington! We're so glad you're here. If you’re considering extending your stay for a summer vacation, we recommend planning it for after the wedding. Seattle will be hosting the FIFA World Cup through July 6, which may impact prices and accommodations.
Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion

Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion

1504 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98101

We love the aquarium! Our favorites are the harbor seals, Casey and Hogan (RIP Barney).

Pike Place Market

Pike Place Market

85 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101

A Seattle classic - great spot to grab coffee and browse market stalls. If you've already been, checkout the newly revitalized 20-acre Seattle Waterfront park where you'll find the aquarium, ferris wheel, and cute shops.

Ballard Farmers Market

Ballard Farmers Market

5345 Ballard Avenue Northwest, Seattle, WA 98107

If you’re looking for a fun, low-key Seattle outing, head to Ballard for great local shopping and the Sunday farmers market. While you’re there, head to the Ballard Locks to see migrating salmon pass from the Sound to Lake Union (July is peak for Sockeye salmon).

West Point Lighthouse Beach

West Point Lighthouse Beach

3801 Discovery Park Boulevard, Seattle, WA 98199

Located in Discovery Park, this beach has gorgeous views and plenty of room to walk and enjoy the Puget Sound.

University of Washington

University of Washington

1410 Northeast Campus Parkway, Seattle, WA 98195

Quick plug for Emily's law school - The University of Washington is one of the prettiest campuses in the U.S. Grab a coffee at the Ugly Mug and meander through the Quad, check out Suzzallo Library, and the Drumheller Fountain facing Mt. Rainier.

Gas Works Park

Gas Works Park

2101 North Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103

Perched on the north end of Lake Union with a lovely view of Seattle, GWP is a great spot for a coffee walk. Fun fact: Patrick and Kat (Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles) paintballed in this park in 10 Things I Hate About You.

Olympic Sculpture Park

Olympic Sculpture Park

2901 Western Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121

Nice park to stretch your legs in the city and take in some art (less than a mile from the hotel block).

Seattle Coffee

Seattle Coffee

Feels wrong to not recommend coffee. Here are our favorites: Coffee TAB, Overcast Coffee, and Caffé Vita. Looking to bring some home with you? Visit The Good Coffee Company for roasted Seattle coffee (they don't sell drinks, just beans).
