Mild to moderate hike- slow upward climb on a fairly easy walking path. Then at the summit there are multiple rock faces to walk out on and explore (an also fenced off viewing areas for the kiddos)
Multiple waterfalls feed into the lake- its always relaxing to have a sunset putz around the lake!
Crowded waterfall due to its easy walking path/steps to view the waterfall and travel behind the waterfall to the other side. There is a parking lot that usually fills up at peak times and walking down to/around the waterfall does require going down a few flights of stairs.
Easy walk out to view the waterfall. Parking is the most difficult part since there is a very small lot off the side of the main road.
Our favorite waterfall hike- but be warned, this is a hike! The trail is straight down and straight back up and includes climbing some larger rocks and walking across downed trees. This is a hike that is sure to get your blood pumping and where you will break a sweat. But the waterfall and swimming hole at the bottom is so gorgeous.
The tallest waterfall in the area. To get to the waterfall, there are a few different trail options but the trail is mostly flat and walkable.
Has a lot of grassy open space for the kids to run and a wooden playground. There's also a walking path with plenty of gazebos. Located at the Crossroads of Cashiers, right next to the Farmers Market and On the Side bbq!
Offers fresh veggies and fruits, local meats, and some prepared foods. They also have bakery items (including a pumpkin bread that Chelsea has to get every time she is in town)!
Best barbecue in the area! Michael and Sydney loveee the baked potato salad and the brisket is the besttt! Located attached to the Cashier's Farmers Market.
Our favorite store is Annawear! Also multiple hiking stores, furniture/antique stores, and boutiques.
Chelsea always has to get a cone of vanilla ice cream mixed with cookie dough, toffee, and marshmallow every time she visits!
Bumpy mile walk up to a rock face to view sunsets over Highlands.
