FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kristine Plath and Bennett Vaughn
Question

What is the dresscode?

Answer

Black tie optional! Think classic elegance with a little garden party flair for the reception. While tuxes are not required, we would like to keep the evening formal. We ask all guests to refrain from wearing jeans or casual clothing.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our wedding Mass starts promptly at 3:00 PM. Doors will open earlier, but please aim to be seated by 2:30 PM. And yes… this is Houston, so leave a little cushion for traffic!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We wish we had room for everyone, but our guest list is tight. If you received a plus one, you’ll see their name listed with yours when you RSVP. If not, we’d still love to celebrate with you!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We adore your kiddos, but we’re keeping the reception adults-only (with the exception of family children). Take this as your official excuse for a night out—no bedtime routines, just dinner, dancing, and champagne!

Question

Is everything indoors or outdoors?

Answer

No weather stress here—both the Mass and reception will be indoors.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

TBD for now, but keep an eye on the RSVP tab—we’ll update soon!

Question

What if I cant make it?

Answer

We’ll miss you! Please just let us know on the RSVP tab so we can plan accordingly (and raise a glass in your honor).

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

Absolutely. We’ll have a full open bar all night, plus a coffee bar to keep the party going when it’s time for cake.

Question

Can I bring my own beverages?

Answer

As much as we love a personal flask moment, our venue doesn’t allow outside drinks. Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with plenty to sip on inside.

Question

Can I Leave My Car At The Venue?

Answer

While The Astorian does have complimentary valet, please make arrangements to have your car removed from the parking lot once the reception ends. The Astorian is closed on Sundays and keeps their lot gated on days they are not open. Any cars left overnight will not be able to be retrieved until Monday morning.
