Los Angeles is famous for producing movies, but we also have so many increddible, one of a kind opportunities to WATCH movies, in beautiful theaters large and small. This website compiles all special screenings happening in Greater Los Angeles, every single week. Ever wanted to see a beloved movie in theaters, but you missed it because you were too young, too busy, or not even born yet? Maybe it's playing a revival screening! Oftentimes these screenings also include surprise guest appearances or Q&A from the cast and crew. https://revivalhub.com/ You can't go wrong with "Vidiots", one of the premiere independent theaters in the area. It's in the neighborhood of Eagle Rock, near Glendale, and their screenings are always so much fun. Take a look at their website, and consider hitting up Walt's Bar (a short walk away) for drinks and pinball before or after the show. https://vidiotsfoundation.org/

Go Hiking

Go Hiking

There are literally hundreds of great hikes in the Greater Los Angeles area. You don't even need to leave the city for some amazing trails. For an easy local hike, try Ferndell to the West Observatory Loop Trail to Griffith Observatory. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/ferndell-to-the-west-observatory-loop-trail-to-griffith-observatory For something a little more challenging, but with the reward of some of the best views in the city and the coolest angle of the Hollywood Sign, try the Hollyridge Trail to Hollywood Sign Viewpoint https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/hollyridge-trail If you want to travel outside the city to somewhere more wild, we recommend looking into Malibu, Palos Verdes, or Angeles National Forest. But as always when it comes to LA, be mindful of travel time!

The words "World Class" get thrown around a lot, but there is truly no better phrase to describe this museum. Fine art, sculpture, photography, architecture and beautiful gardens all combine for one of the best activities to do in Los Angeles. The museum is TECHNICALLY free, but there is no free parking around and you do need to reserve a slot. Also note that this is relatively far from Glendale, where we recommend our guests stay, so plan your travel time accordingly!
