We met freshman year at Iowa State. Ben was killing time before his Calculus exam and Shelby was on her way home from class. We ran into each other on Shelby's Dorm floor and immediately got to talking. Later that afternoon after we parted ways, Shelby made her way to the dining center. When she was looking for a seat, it was completely packed, and the only available seats were next to Ben and his friend. If you ask Ben, there were plenty of open seats. We ate and chatted for awhile before Ben left for his Exam. We parted ways and never ended up exchanging any form of contact information. Later that week, Shelby couldn't stop thinking about Ben. She asked through a friend to track down his information. Next thing she knew, she was getting ready to go out with friend's and one of them shared Ben's Snapchat. She immediately reached out to him and went to see him at his fraternity party. That night we stayed up for hours talking. That night turned into another night, and another night, until a week went by and the rest is history. From that moment on we have been inseparable going on many adventures throughout college, covid, and long distance. Flash forward to this past Summer, Ben popped the question at his parents cabin in northern Minnesota surrounded by both our families. We currently live in Minnesota with our dog, Bowser, and our cat, Yoshi. We are so excited to be able to share our wedding with our closest friends and family on July 26th, 2025!
