FAQs

Here are some answers to a few common questions, but if you have any others, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi-formal/cocktail attire [i.e. suit (tie optional) and cocktail dresses]. Our ceremony will take place outside on the balcony of the Lodge. Although the ceremony will not be very long and we will have heaters outside, we encourage you to check the weather ahead of time and prepare accordingly. Please feel free to wear coats, shawls, blankets, etc., whatever is necessary to keep you comfortable. Our reception will be held inside.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Colorado weather is about as unpredictable as they come. I wish I could provide you with more helpful information, but due the fact that temperatures in Breckenridge on the weekend of our wedding last year ranged from 20 degrees on Saturday to 60 degrees on Sunday, I suggest packing several options (and layers!!!), as well as checking the forecast ahead of time.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered at Crate&Barrel and Zola. https://www.crateandbarrel.com/gift-registry/jocelyn-bowman-and-benjamin-keller/r5824133 https://www.zola.com/wedding/benjaminandjocelyn/registry

Question

Should I be concerned about altitude sickness?

Answer

Our venue sits at an elevation of over 10,000 feet. Since the majority of our guests live at or near sea level, we highly recommend taking precautions to ensure that you are able to fully enjoy yourself during your visit. First and foremost, DRINK LOTS OF WATER! More than you think is necessary. Between Colorado’s dry climate and the elevation, hydration is pertinent to ensure you stay feeling your best – especially for those who will be consuming alcohol. Taking some time to acclimate in Denver, which sits at ~5,000 feet, before continuing on your way to the mountains can also help. Medications, such as Diamox (needs to be prescribed by your doctor) and ibuprofen, can help to reduce a person’s risk for developing altitude sickness almost entirely. If you’re more into herbal interventions, gingko biloba can help to decrease symptoms and rhodiola can help to prevent it all together, as long as you start to take it several weeks before your travels.

Question

When is everyone arriving in Breckenridge?

Answer

Ben and Jocelyn will be heading to the Lodge on Friday morning. Most family members and members of the wedding party are arriving later on Friday or Saturday morning. Please feel free to arrive whenever is best for you. We are just happy to celebrate with all of our guests.

Question

But, what about the Eagles game?

Answer

Yes, we are aware the Birds are playing the Cowgirls on SNF the night of our wedding. We are working on figuring accommodations for this. Please check back later.

Question

Can I go skiing?

Answer

Yes! Breckenridge Ski Resort's opening weekend is the weekend of our wedding. The number of runs that will be open will all depend on what the weather is like in the weeks leading up to our wedding, but this would definitely be a fun thing to check out.

Question

I want to go hiking and/or explore the outdoors. Where should I go?
