Their Story Ben and Corinne first met at Texas A&M University in the Poultry Science Department. They both started school the same semester as Poultry Science majors, and in October of 2022 they happened to land in the same introductory poultry class. That class is where their friendship began, with a quiet sense that God was already at work. Before long, they went on their first date and continued spending more time together. Eventually, Ben asked the classic “So… what are we?” question, and Corinne jokingly replied, “Oh, just friends.” So, in true gentleman fashion, Ben waited a little longer before officially asking her to be his girlfriend in January 2023. From that moment on, the Lord continued writing their story in His perfect timing. Fast forward to December 2024: Ben graduated from Texas A&M with his Poultry Science degree and began working for Cal-Maine Foods in Wharton County, Texas, the same company where he had completed one internship and Corinne had completed two. They spent the next year “long-distance” while Corinne finished school, they leaned on faith and trusting God with every mile between them. On December 18, 2025, Corinne also graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Poultry Science, bringing them to the next beautiful chapter of their story. The Engagement To celebrate Corinne’s graduation, the couple joined her family for a hunting trip at their farm in Mason, Texas. All weekend long, they hunted each morning and evening, knowing Sunday night would be their last chance before heading home Monday. Corinne’s parents, Emily and Rodney, told them they’d be going out to dinner that evening to celebrate, so Ben and Corinne slipped off to the deer stand for a few hours beforehand. Just before it was time to leave, a perfect deer stepped out. Corinne encouraged Ben to shoot. But the deer ran, and they waited about 20 minutes before going to track. They started looking and Corinne found it in 10. They returned to the house with the deer in tow. Ben then suggested they take a walk to calm down from the adrenaline rush. That’s when he stopped, got down on one knee, and asked Corinne to be his wife. Deer blood and all, it was perfectly them, doing what they love. And under that perfect West Texas sky, they thanked God for the love He placed in their hearts and the path that led them together. Ben and Corinne are so grateful for the story the Lord has written for them and cannot wait to begin the rest of their lives as husband and wife. 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud… It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
