She asked him how to use the DDR machine, so he gave her a quick tutorial and recommended a few songs. Of course, she chose the hardest difficulty for a Japanese pop song that she liked. Ben thought it was silly but endearing that she picked it, despite her failing it. Not long after, she joined the rhythm game club he was part of, and they began seeing each other regularly between classes. One day while they were out getting boba with friends, Kysee’s friend noticed Ben quietly watching her from down the table as she laughed, with a fond smile on his face. From then on, he started making little thoughtful gestures, such as helping her hold the club’s sign to offering her pain meds when she had cramps.
