A LinkedIn Love Story

Michael and Amber first met in 2014 while working in the engineering dorms during college. They exchanged a few hellos back then but never got the chance to truly connect. Nearly nine years later, that changed with a simple message on LinkedIn. Amber reached out to ask about Michael’s engineering work, and he suggested they meet in person to talk through it. As it turned out, both parties had ulterior motives with Amber waking up early to curl her hair that morning and Michael choosing a little more tailored clothes for their meeting at Walter Station Brewery. What was supposed to be a quick conversation turned into much more profound discussions about life, family, and travels. Before they knew it, they had been sitting there for hours, and time truthfully hasn’t moved the same since for the two of them. Their first official date was at Social Hall, and even then, they both knew their connection was something special. Michael asked his friends and family for advice for their first date, and Amber put a little pink heart emoji in her calendar documenting each date they went on from the very first one. So, to no one's surprise, it wasn't long before things were official. From that point on, they were inseparable. They’ve been there for each other through new jobs, big family milestones, spontaneous adventures, hospital visits, concerts, and cross-country travel! On September 8, 2024, Michael proposed to Amber at sunset on a boat in Washington, DC, overlooking the Potomac. It was a view Michael had never seen before, and one Amber had seen many times, but will never see in quite the same way again. A few weeks later, they celebrated their engagement with family and friends at a party hosted by Amber’s mom, Angela Bengson, and her maid of honor, Alysa Bengson. It was a night full of joy, creativity, and love. The perfect preview of what’s to come. Now, they are counting down the days until they get to say “I do” surrounded by the people who mean the most. Whether you're joining them for a toast, a twirl on the dance floor, or simply sharing in the moment, your presence is part of what makes this day so special.
