Answer

26 February 2026!

Question

Question

Will the London Marathon affect travel?

Answer

Transport will be heavily impacted, especially during the day of the wedding. The problem will be worse in Central London and at major stations, so take extra time to travel if you're planning on arriving in London on the day or passing through the city centre. We would recommend considering arriving the night before and staying reasonably near the venue, if possible. Be sure to book accomodation in advance, as there is limited booking space during this time.

Question

What can I eat?

Answer

We will offer an Indian menu, and there will be options for people with varied dietary requirements - we will ensure there are vegan, vegetarian, and meat/fish options for everyone. All food will be nut-free (except for the almonds in the halwa!). Let us know if you have any other dietary requirements, and we will do our best to make accommodations if possible.

Question

What will the ceremony involve?

Answer

The wedding will be a Hindu ceremony, which will last for approximately two hours. Feel free to move around during this time! We will provide all guests with more information about the ceremony as it is happening, so you can follow along (as well as possible!)

Question

What should I bring as a gift?

Answer

Please do not bring a present - your presence is enough! However, if you are feeling particularly generous, we have included a registry at https://prezola.com/buy/view/266148

Question

I've never been to an Indian wedding before - what should I expect?

Answer

Lots of food, dancing, and colours! Our wedding is intended as a celebration of our mixed heritages - with delicious Punjabi food and a beautiful Bengali ceremony, we want this wedding to bring our cultures together!

Question

What is a Baraat?

Answer

A Baraat is a procession in which the groom enters the wedding place. The groom comes with a Dholi (drummer) with his entire list of invitees. So if you're from the grooms side, Ben will be in touch to coordinate his dancing procession as he enters the wedding venue. This will be followed by Rohini's family and bridal guests greeting him to the wedding venue.
