"Aloha crisp" or "Filipino formal". That means Hawaiian shirts, Filipino barongs, light summer dresses. Kihei is a very hot place, so please dress accordingly. We want you to be able to dance comfortably and not overheat. We would hate to invite the EMTs unexpectedly.
Reina was born and raised on Maui to a large extended family, including many Hanai family, with deep roots in the local community. Ben fell in love with the island and we plan to settle here after Reina leaves the military. We are getting married at her childhood church. We hope you can use our wedding as an excuse to plan a vacation, and/or a 1st, 2nd, 3rd,.., #th Honeymoon! (Or a reason just to visit Hawai'i and meet the Kent and Paz Golino Ohana).
We currently live 20 minutes south of Washington, DC (or 30 depending on traffic on I-95). This is a destination wedding for us too.
While we'd love to see everyone enjoying Maui as we celebrate our nuptials, we understand that life can get in the way of big travel plans. No matter what, we love and appreciate you all for the love and support you've given us throughout our lives. We look forward to seeing you soon in the near future, or virtually!
