Airports and Driving Distances

There are several airport choices in Northern California, with various driving distances to reach Homewood. We recommend renting a car at one of the airports in order to get around. The Lake Tahoe area does have Uber and a public bus system, but having your own car will be more reliable. 1. [~1hr drive] Reno-Tahoe International Airport 2. [~4hr drive] San Francisco International Airport If driving from the Bay Area, pay attention to rush hour times as traffic between the Bay Area and Sacramento can often be congested in the afternoons, particularly on a holiday weekend like Labor Day.

There are many options to stay around Homewood. If you're not able to find accommodations in Homewood, there are several neighboring towns on the Tahoe west shore that are a short drive away. Tahoe City is the largest nearby town and is about a 15 minute drive from the wedding location. For rentals, Airbnb and VRBO will offer a variety of options. In addition, there are a handful of hotel options available.
