Things To Do
Lake Harbor Park
More low-key and tucked away, Lake Harbor is a great spot for a quiet walk or a peaceful beach day. There are trails through wooded dunes, a few boardwalks with scenic views, and access to both Mona Lake and Lake Michigan. It’s a meaningful place for us — Ben proposed here, and we’ve both spent a lot of time at this park over the years.
Pere Marquette Park
This is Muskegon’s go-to beach — wide, sandy, and lively. It’s got everything: volleyball courts, a playground, a long pier with a lighthouse, and a beachside restaurant and bar called The Deck that often hosts live music. Great for people-watching, swimming, and catching those classic Lake Michigan sunsets.
The Deck
For us, no Michigan summer is complete without a trip to The Deck. It's right on the beach, with live music, volleyball, great food, and steps away from the lake!
Rake Beer Project
Hands down our favorite brewery. Incredible sours, great beers, excellent coffee—and even better people. (Ben grew up down the street from Josh, the owner!)
Lakeshore Art Festival
Saturday & Sunday Only: A summer favorite in downtown Muskegon, the Lakeshore Art Festival features over 250 juried artists and crafters, live music, street performers, artisan food vendors, and interactive art activities.
Michigan's Adventure
We grew up going here! It’s Michigan’s biggest amusement and water park—roller coasters, waterslides, and all the classic summer fun just outside Muskegon. Mad Mouse is our favorite (prepare to laugh and scream a little).
Pigeon Hill Brewing Company
A Muskegon staple with great beer and a cozy spot close to downtown. Always something good on tap!
Hearthstone Bistro
Our go-to for special occasions growing up—birthdays, graduations, and family dinners. It’s still our favorite date night spot. The perch is a must.
Socibowl by Pigeon Hill
One of Muskegon’s newer spots and super fun for all ages. Bowling, arcade games, food, and drinks—all right downtown.
Wonderland Distilling Co
One of our favorite spots for cocktails in Muskegon. The drinks are top-notch (we love the Whiskey Bramble and the espresso martini), and the food’s great too!
