FAQs

Question

Where is the ceremony being held?

Answer

Our ceremony will be held outside in the National Forrest at Riven Rock Park in shelter #4. This is about 20 minutes from downtown Harrisonburg. Please enter the address into your phone before leaving, as cell service will be spotty at best. Carpooling is recommended since the park does not have extensive parking. As you are driving on Rawley Pike, the park will be on your left and there will be a red sign to indicate the entrance. Turn into the park and stay left on the road, passing shelter #1 on your right. There are multiple areas to park at the front of and throughout the park. We recommend parking around shelter #1, as our ceremony spot is a short walk from there. You will see a road that leads left, which will lead you to our ceremony site. You can drive directly to shelter #4 if you need to drop guests off, but there will not be room to park. We recommend dressing comfortably since we will be sitting outside and walking on a gravel road. There is a small covered shelter with picnic tables for guests who prefer to sit in a shaded area. As a contingency plan, if the weather doesn't cooperate, we will hold our ceremony at the reception venue.

Question

Where is the reception being held?

Answer

The reception is being held indoors on the second floor at The Loft, located on Liberty Street in downtown Harrisonburg. There is a staircase at the front of the entrance, as well as an elevator towards the back to access the second floor. There is a small parking lot available for guests to use, as well as plenty of free street parking.

Question

Where should I park while visiting?

Answer

Downtown Harrisonburg is rather small and very walkable. There are two parking decks that have free 4 hour parking spots. One is located on Wolfe St, directly across from the Friendly City Food Co-Op, and is typically less crowded. The second parking deck is located on Water St, and tends to fill up over the weekends. Otherwise, there are a number of free hourly parking spaces that can be found around town.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love for you to wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable! Both our welcome party and ceremony will be held outdoors on grassy areas, so be sure to factor your comfort in. Semi-formal or dressy casual outfits are suggested, but there's no mandated dress code.

Question

Are there other wedding events I can attend?
