FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kim Hughes and Ben Driscoll
Question

Should I bring water?

Answer

Okay, this is probably not a typical wedding FAQ, but worth addressing-- we will provide drinking water, but we also encourage guests to consider bringing a personal water bottle. It could be a toasty afternoon!

Question

Why 18+?

Answer

We love all of the children in our lives! But we want all of our family and friends who are parents to be able to focus on celebrating with us. All of our wedding events are therefore child free, with the exception of Kim's nephews and two first cousins.

Question

Where is the wedding venue?

Answer

Our wedding is a backyard wedding, so we do not technically have a venue. Instead, we're tying the knot at Kim's family's camps on the St. Lawrence River! The address is 2 Rocky Edge Rd in Morristown, NY 13664. Please see below for more info on finding your way.

Question

What do you mean by "camps"?

Answer

Excellent question-- probably a more appropriate term would be "cabin" or "summer home", but Kim's family has always used the term "camp". Rocky Edge Rd is a private drive with 13 total cabins, most of which are summer residences. Kim's family owns 3 of the 13 cabins. The other 10 are occupied by our wonderful neighbors, and we do ask that everyone be very respectful of their space. In other words, please do not block or linger in the road and be sure to follow signs to the various wedding event locations, so you don't wander onto the wrong property!

Question

How do I get to the camps?

Answer

Plug the address "2 Rocky Edge Road" into your GPS. Note: if it tells you to turn onto Old Mills Road, ignore this direction! Continue on Route 12 until the turn onto River Rd. You will see signs directing you from there.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

We are a fair distance from any airports, and the camps are a 15 minute drive from the nearest hotels. We therefore highly recommend any of our guests flying to the wedding also rent a car.

Question

Will there be parking at the camps?

Answer

Parking is very limited on the private road leading to the camps themselves. We encourage carpooling as much as possible. When you arrive, there will be signs directing you to park along River Rd, just before the private road leading to the camps. Guests will then walk down to the camps (.2 miles downhill) or wait at the top of the drive to hitch a ride on our "shuttle" (Kim's cousin driving a jeep).

Question

What about mosquitos?

Answer

We will do our best to ensure the property is as mosquito-free as possible. We'll also be providing bug spray wipes for anyone who wants an extra layer of protection.
