St. Armand's Circle
John Ringling designed St. Armand's Circle. It contains more than 130 stores and restaurants all built in a circle (like a circus) with a small park in the center. Circling the park are plaques in honor of the legendary performers in the Ringling Circus. The "circle" is just across the bridge from the Westin. The Westin shuttle will take you here.
Green Zebra Cafe
Our favorite breakfast spot in St. Armand's Circle. Kassie & Ben love the #47 Tex Mex Scramble and the #24 Kick shot! They're a family owned business and offer great gluten free & vegan options (everyone loves their pancakes and acai bowls).
Shore Diner
One of our favorite restaurants on the 2nd floor and the cutest clothing store on the 1st floor! Located in St. Armand's Circle. They also have an awesome 2nd location on Longboat Key!
Kilwins
The best ice cream in Florida! Located in St. Armand's Circle.
Dry Dock Waterfront Grill
Best place for lobster tacos and dolphin sightings!
Sarasota Jungle Gardens
home to more than 200 native and exotic animals, parrots and macaws, primates, small mammals, dozens of snakes, lizards, iguanas, alligators, crocodiles and other reptiles – many of them rescued or donated. Highlight here- feeding the flamingos!
Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium
One of our favorite things to do! Sharks, stingray petting, manatees, and more!
Siesta Key Beach
A short drive from downtown Sarasota, this Public Beach has been named the United States best beach - more than once! Unlike beaches elsewhere that are made up mostly of pulverized coral, Siesta Beach's sand is 99% quartz, most of which comes from the Appalachian Mountains. This quaint yet quirky 8-mile-long island offers shopping, dining and nightlife.
Longboat Key Beach
Our favorite beach - but no amenities here so make sure to bring towels, sunscreen, water, etc. This address is for one of the public access parking lots.
Anna Maria Public Beach
There are 3 beaches on this island- the address listed is for the bayfront park. One of the beaches here is where Kassie was scuba certified- so she could dive with Ben at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia!
Lido Key Beach
For those staying at the Westin, this is the closest beach, and the hotel shuttle will take you here. It's just beyond St. Armand's Circle.
Marina
The Sarasota Marina is across the street from the Westin. It has waterfront dining + an Irish tiki bar and a park. They offer boat rentals and fishing charters here.
